SkyBlock Sand Island is a skyblock data pack that generates a floating sand island near world spawn. It ships as a plain data pack and as mods for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. It is required on the host side, and players joining do not have to install it.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric, Forge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.19.4 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What spawns on the island
The island is small: 27 sand blocks, one cactus and a chest. The chest holds these items.
- 10 obsidian
- 1 each of sweet berry, glow berry, melon slice, pumpkin seed, sugar cane, cobweb, cocoa bean, mycelium and glow lichen
- 1 each of sunflower, rose bush, lilac and peony
Most of these items cannot be obtained in normal skyblock, but become renewable once you hold one. The obsidian is the real shortcut. Without it, reaching the Nether means collecting emeralds, waiting for wandering traders and making lava with dripstone.
Installing the data pack or the mod
- 1.Choose a route. The plain data pack works on its own, and the loader files install as ordinary mods.
- 2.For the mod route, set up Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt, as covered in how to install mods on Java Edition.
- 3.Put the mod .jar in the mods folder inside the game directory, then launch with that loader's profile.
- 4.For the data pack route, add the pack to the world instead of the mods folder.
Pairing and limits
The pack may work with other skyblock data packs. For compatibility, use Standard SkyBlock, which older builds list as an optional companion. The newest builds need no dependencies.
