What Tips adds
The mod fills waiting time with useful information.
The pool of tips is not fixed. Resource packs, other mods and modpacks can all add their own entries, so a pack author can turn the loading screen into a place for pack-specific advice. The creator's documentation explains how to configure the tips.
Installing Tips
- 1.Install the loader that matches your Minecraft release. The guides cover Fabric and Forge or NeoForge.
- 2.Pick the Tips file made for that loader and release.
- 3.Place it in the mods folder of the game directory (.minecraft/mods by default) together with every library it needs, such as Bookshelf.
- 4.Launch with the loader's profile and open a world to see the first tip.
Trade-offs
Tips does one thing. The value depends on the tips in the pool, so packs that ship their own entries get the most from it. Players must have it installed locally, since the client is where the tips are drawn.
Questions about Tips.
5 questions
What does the Tips mod do in Minecraft?
Tips displays useful hints on loading screens, such as the world loading screen, and changes the tip every five seconds. It adds no gameplay content. Resource packs, other mods and modpacks can add their own tips to the pool it draws from.
How do I install the Tips mod?
Install Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt for your Minecraft release, then put the matching Tips file and its required library mods into the mods folder. Launch the game with the loader's profile. The library list differs by loader, so check it before playing.
Does Tips need to be installed on a server?
Tips is required on the client, since that is where the loading screens are drawn. Installing it on the server is optional.
Can I add my own tips to the Tips mod?
Yes. The pool of tips can be expanded by resource packs, other mods and modpacks, so a pack author can write custom entries. The creator publishes documentation that explains how to configure the tips.
Is Tips available for Bedrock Edition?
No. Tips is a Java Edition mod that needs a loader such as Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt. Bedrock Edition cannot load Java mods, so the mod does not work there.
