Toast Control is a client-side toast control mod for NeoForge, with older Forge releases that have since stopped. It governs the small popups that slide in at the corner of the screen. Out of the box it silences recipe and tutorial toasts, the two kinds most players find noisy.
Loaders and versions
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.1.2. The newest build requires Placebo.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.18.1 to 1.20.1, builds stopped after August 2023. The newest build requires Placebo.
What it blocks and what it restyles
Vanilla shows every toast it can: recipes, advancements, the Narrator and tutorials. Toast Control keeps recipes and tutorials off by default. Any other toast type can be disabled through the configuration file, so advancement popups stay until you switch them off.
If you want the information but not the clutter, change the look instead of hiding the toast. The mod offers translucent and transparent backgrounds. Both apply to vanilla toasts only.

Installation

Does Toast Control block advancement toasts?
Not by default. Out of the box the mod disables recipe and tutorial toasts only, so advancement and Narrator popups still appear. Any other toast type can be turned off through the configuration file, including advancements, if you would rather not see them.
Can I make toasts transparent instead of hiding them?
Yes. Toast Control can give toasts a translucent or a fully transparent background, which keeps the information on screen while reducing how much it covers. The option applies to vanilla toasts only, so toasts added by other mods keep their own look.
Does Toast Control need to be installed on a multiplayer host?
The files are tagged client-side, so the mod is meant for the player's own installation. It changes which popups appear on your screen, not how the world runs. Install it in your own mods folder together with Placebo.
