Zoomify is a client-side Fabric and Quilt mod that gives Minecraft Java a configurable zoom key. Unlike OptiFine's fixed zoom, Zoomify lets you set the zoom divisor, transition animation speed, scroll wheel zoom adjustment, and mouse sensitivity scaling independently through an in-game config screen. It runs on Minecraft 1.18 through 1.21.x and requires no shaders or rendering overhaul to work.
How to Install Zoomify on Fabric
Zoomify requires three dependencies in addition to Fabric Loader: Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL). All are available on Modrinth. Mod Menu is optional but recommended for accessing the config screen in-game without editing a file.
- 1.Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version.
- 2.Download Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) from Modrinth.
- 3.Download Zoomify from its Modrinth page.
- 4.Place all four jar files in your .minecraft/mods folder.
- 5.Launch Minecraft with the Fabric profile and press C (default) to zoom.
Zoom Configuration Options
The config screen, accessed via Mod Menu or the options keybind menu, exposes independent controls for every zoom behavior:
- Zoom divisor: how far the camera zooms in (default 4x).
- Transition type: instant, smooth lerp, or cinematic ease.
- Mouse sensitivity: retain normal feel, scale with zoom level, or lock to a fixed value.
- Scroll to zoom: hold the zoom key and scroll the mouse wheel to fine-tune magnification.
- Keybind: rebind the zoom key to any input, default is C.
Compatibility with Sodium, Iris, and Quilt
Zoomify operates on the camera field of view and does not touch rendering internals, so it runs cleanly alongside Sodium, Iris, and any shader pack. It is a common addition to Fabric performance setups. Quilt is supported through Fabric compatibility. There is no Forge or NeoForge build, and the mod has no server-side component.
Zoomify Zoom Mod Overview for Minecraft Java
Questions about this entry.
How do I install Zoomify?
Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version, then download Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and Zoomify from Modrinth. Place all four jar files in your mods folder and launch with the Fabric profile. The zoom key defaults to C and can be rebound in controls.
Does Zoomify work with Sodium and Iris?
Yes. Zoomify modifies the camera field of view and does not interact with rendering internals, so it is fully compatible with Sodium, Iris, and any shader pack. It is a common choice for players who use the Fabric optimization stack.
Which Minecraft versions does Zoomify support?
Zoomify supports Minecraft Java Edition from 1.18 through 1.21.x on Fabric and Quilt. Check the Modrinth page for the latest release file for your version. There is no Forge or NeoForge build available.
Can I use Zoomify on a multiplayer server?
Yes. Zoomify is client-only and does not need to be installed on the server. It works on any Minecraft server regardless of what the server runs, because it only modifies the local camera view on the client side.
Does Zoomify replace OptiFine zoom?
Zoomify provides the same zoom key functionality as OptiFine, with more configuration options including transition animation, scroll wheel control, and sensitivity scaling. It is the standard zoom option for Fabric and Quilt players who do not use OptiFine.
