No Chat Reports is a Minecraft Java Edition mod by Aizistral that removes the cryptographic chat signing system introduced in version 1.19.1. When installed, it prevents your messages from being signed with a private key that links them to your Mojang account and can be submitted to Mojang's reporting backend. The mod runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt across Minecraft 1.19 through 1.21.
What No Chat Reports Changes
Starting with 1.19.1, Minecraft Java Edition signs every player message with a private key tied to your Mojang account. This signature lets servers and Mojang verify message origin and process abuse reports that include the signed text. No Chat Reports intercepts that process and sends unsigned messages instead, so no cryptographic record of your chat travels to third-party reporting systems.
The mod supports server-side installation as well. A server running No Chat Reports will accept unsigned messages from any connected client, including unmodified vanilla ones. Clients connecting to an unmodified server may still see a signing prompt from the vanilla client; the mod does not suppress that dialog on its own unless both sides have it installed.
Installation
- 1.Install a supported mod loader: Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt.
- 2.For Fabric and Quilt installs, also download Fabric API, which is a required dependency for those loaders.
- 3.Download the No Chat Reports .jar for your loader and Minecraft version from the Modrinth project page.
- 4.Place the .jar in your mods folder and launch with the correct loader profile.
- 5.Optionally install Cloth Config API and Mod Menu for an in-game settings screen.
Client and Server Installation
No Chat Reports is marked optional on both client and server, meaning neither side requires the other to have it installed. Behavior differs depending on which side runs the mod:
- Client only: your outgoing messages are unsigned regardless of the server configuration.
- Server only: the server accepts unsigned messages from all connected clients, including unmodified ones.
- Both sides: unsigned messages flow through cleanly without connection prompts.
Configuration
With Mod Menu and Cloth Config API installed, No Chat Reports adds an in-game settings screen accessible from the Mod Menu interface. The configuration options allow adjusting how the mod handles servers that request signing, and whether the signing status indicator appears in the chat HUD. Without these optional dependencies the mod still works with its default settings.

Questions about this entry.
How do I install No Chat Reports?
Download the .jar matching your loader and Minecraft version from modrinth.com/mod/no-chat-reports. Place it in your mods folder. Fabric and Quilt users also need Fabric API. Launch with the correct loader profile and the mod is active immediately. Cloth Config API and Mod Menu are optional but add an in-game settings screen.
Does No Chat Reports work with Forge and NeoForge?
Yes. The mod ships separate builds for Fabric, Quilt, Forge, and NeoForge. Fabric API is only required on Fabric and Quilt builds. Forge and NeoForge builds carry their own dependencies, so no additional library mods are needed for those loaders.
Is No Chat Reports safe to use on multiplayer servers?
The mod is open source under the WTFPL license and does not modify gameplay. Whether a specific server permits unsigned clients is a server policy decision. Some servers require signed chat and will disconnect unsigned clients, so check the rules for any server you intend to join.
Does No Chat Reports work without Fabric API?
Fabric API is required only for the Fabric and Quilt builds. The Forge and NeoForge versions do not need it. If you are on Fabric or Quilt and skip Fabric API the game will refuse to launch with the mod loaded.
Which Minecraft version does No Chat Reports support?
No Chat Reports supports Minecraft Java Edition 1.19 through 1.21, covering all releases where the chat signing system is active. Chat signing was introduced in 1.19.1, so versions earlier than 1.19 do not need this mod. Check the Modrinth page for the latest compatible build for your exact release.
