ajLeaderboards uses PlaceholderAPI to build live leaderboards for Paper, Spigot, Purpur, and Folia running 1.8.8 through 26.2. Any plugin exposing a numeric value through PlaceholderAPI can feed a leaderboard, and results can be shown on holograms, signs, NPCs, or armor stands. It runs entirely server-side, so players need nothing extra installed to see the leaderboards. The newest releases across every loader require PlaceholderAPI.
Features
- Displays leaderboards anywhere PlaceholderAPI text renders, including holograms, display entities, and Citizens NPCs
- Built-in customizable signs, with optional player heads above them or on armor stands
- MySQL support to keep leaderboards synced across a network, provided the tracked PlaceholderAPI value is synced too
- Timed leaderboards (hourly, daily, monthly, and more) that reset without touching all-time stats
- Extra PlaceholderAPI values shown alongside each leaderboard entry
- Player prefixes and suffixes pulled from Vault
Setup
Setup runs through one command. Running the add command starts tracking a chosen PlaceholderAPI value, and players are added to the leaderboard automatically as they join. Leaderboards then render through the plugin's own LB values, usable anywhere PlaceholderAPI text works, including DecentHolograms pages, or through the built-in sign display.
Loaders and compatibility
Current releases target Paper, Spigot, Purpur, and Folia across the full 1.8.8 to 26.2 span. Bukkit releases stopped in mid-2024 at 2.9.0 and never moved past 1.21.4, so it should not be treated as a current target.
Questions about ajLeaderboards.
4 questions
How do I install ajLeaderboards?
Place the plugin file in the plugins folder of a Paper, Spigot, Purpur, or Folia server and restart it. Leaderboards are built from PlaceholderAPI values, so that plugin should be installed on the same server for the newest release to work as intended.
Does ajLeaderboards work on Folia?
Yes. Folia releases are published alongside Paper, Spigot, and Purpur releases, covering the same 1.8.8 to 26.2 range, and the newest Folia release also lists PlaceholderAPI as a requirement.
Which Minecraft versions does ajLeaderboards support?
Paper and Spigot releases cover 1.8.8 through 26.2 with the deepest release history. Folia and Purpur cover the same range with fewer releases. Bukkit support stopped in 2024 and tops out at 1.21.4.
Does ajLeaderboards require PlaceholderAPI?
The newest release on every current loader lists it as a requirement, since leaderboards are built from PlaceholderAPI's tracked values. Any plugin whose stats you want tracked needs to expose a numeric value that PlaceholderAPI can read.
