ajQueue is a free, open-source proxy plugin for Minecraft Java networks. A proxy is the software that sits in front of several backend servers and routes players between them, so ajQueue runs on BungeeCord, Velocity, or Waterfall rather than on a single server. Instead of just rejecting a connection when the target server is full or mid-restart, ajQueue holds the player in a queue and sends them through automatically once a slot opens.
Free ajQueue versus the paid ajQueuePlus
ajQueue and ajQueuePlus are two separate products from the same creator, ajgeiss0702, listed in different places: ajQueue is the free, open-source project on Modrinth and GitHub, while ajQueuePlus is a paid listing sold separately on SpigotMC and Polymart. Priority queue and permissions
Every player gets a queue priority of 0 by default. Granting the ajqueue.priority permission, or the per-server ajqueue.serverpriority.<server> variant, moves that player ahead of players without it. All ajQueue permissions have to be set on the proxy, not on the backend server, so a permissions plugin like LuckPerms needs to manage them there. Admin commands sit behind ajqueue.manage and its subcommands for reload, pause, kick, send, and list.
Compatibility and dependencies
ajQueue has no required dependencies and installs standalone on the proxy. The ajqueue.joinfull permission is the one exception: it lets a player still attempt to join a full server, but only works if the backend server also runs a plugin that allows joining past its player cap, such as EssentialsX. Players can also keep their place in the queue for 60 seconds after a disconnect with the ajqueue.stayqueued permission.
