EzShops is a shop plugin for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Purpur and Folia, written by Shadow48402. The EzShops plugin replaces hand-built shop setups with category menus, dynamic pricing, sign shops, player chest shops and a stock market. It is server-side only, so players join with an ordinary client and install nothing.
Server software and versions
- Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot: Minecraft 1.7.2 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally Teams API, EzAuction and EzBoost.
- Folia: Minecraft 1.13 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally Teams API, EzAuction and EzBoost.
What it adds
- Shop menus with category icons, quantity selectors, bulk buy and sell buttons, and editable lore.
- Dynamic pricing that shifts with player activity and keeps its state across restarts.
- Rotating daily or timed specials, scheduled in YAML with weighted or random rotation.
- Sign shops that mirror menu prices, handy for spawn markets and player towns.
- Player chest shops with branded signs and automatic stock handling. Sign names show potion effects and enchantments.
- A stock market for chosen items with demand-driven prices and admin overrides.
- Multi-language support, set in config.yml, and a ShopPriceService API for other plugins.
Installation and commands
Install Vault and a compatible economy plugin first, since currency transactions depend on them. Then drop the plugin file into the plugins folder and restart, as covered in how to install plugins on a Paper or Spigot server. Default configs, categories and layouts generate on first run, and shop.yml plus the category files hold your items and prices.
- /shop opens the menu, and /shop buy or /shop sell trade straight from chat.
- /sellhand and /sellinventory sell one stack or everything at once.
- /price checks live buy and sell prices.
- /stock buy, /stock sell and /stock overview run the stock market, with /stockadmin for staff.
- /shop reload applies config changes live. /shopadmin reseed restores missing bundled defaults without overwriting existing files.
Permissions are split between shop access, the stock market, sign creation and player shop management, so you can open the shop to everyone and keep admin tools for staff. Sell boosts are available through the author's EzBoost plugin, and EzAuction and EzEconomy are supported out of the box.
Trade-offs
EzShops covers a lot, which means more configuration than a single-purpose shop plugin. Categories, rotations, the stock market and sign formats each have their own files. The creator describes it as optimized for large servers through async operations and caching, but offers no figures, so watch your own tick times after adding many dynamic items.
Questions about EzShops.
4 questions
How do I install EzShops?
Install Vault and an economy plugin, place the EzShops plugin file in your plugins folder, and restart. Default configs, categories and layouts are generated on first run. Edit shop.yml and the category files, then give staff and players the permissions they need.
Does EzShops work on Folia?
Yes. Folia is among the loaders the plugin lists, alongside Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur. Folia builds begin at a later Minecraft release than the other loaders, so check the server software list on this page against your setup.
Does EzShops need Vault and an economy plugin?
Yes for currency. The creator states that Vault and a compatible economy plugin are required for buying and selling. EzShops handles menus, pricing and signs, while the balance itself lives in your economy plugin.
Do players need to install anything for EzShops?
No. EzShops is a server-side plugin, and players connect with a normal client. Only the server owner installs it, and the in-game menus and signs appear for everyone who joins.
