LoginTo is an authentication plugin for Minecraft servers and networks. It runs on Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Purpur and Folia, and on the Velocity, BungeeCord and Waterfall proxies. It is server-side only, and players join with an ordinary client.
Server software and versions
- Bukkit, BungeeCord, Paper, Purpur, Spigot and Velocity: Minecraft 1.8 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Folia and Waterfall: Minecraft 1.13 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it does
Player inventories stay hidden until authentication. Passwords are hashed with BCrypt, and a login timeout is built in. Password changes can be confirmed with a one-time code (OTP), and the code can be scanned as a QR code.
- Autologin for premium and Bedrock players, so they skip the password prompt.
- Brute-force protection against repeated wrong passwords.
- Fully customizable messages, from text to colors.
- A free API for other plugins to hook into.
- Database storage for player credentials.
Installation
Drop the plugin file into the plugins folder of your Paper, Spigot or other supported software, then restart. On a network, put it on the proxy. The newest build has no dependencies, so there is nothing else to fetch. If you are new to this, our guide on installing plugins on a Paper or Spigot server covers the steps.
Permissions and commands
Each command has its own permission node, so you can hand out only what a rank needs.
- /register uses loginto.register
- /login uses loginto.login
- /unregister uses loginto.unregister
- /changepassword uses loginto.changepassword
- /premium uses loginto.premium.me, or loginto.premium.other when used on another player
- /otp uses loginto.otp
Questions about LoginTo.
4 questions
How do I install LoginTo?
Put the plugin file in the plugins folder of your Paper, Spigot, Purpur, Folia or other supported software and restart. On a network, install it on the Velocity, BungeeCord or Waterfall proxy. Players install nothing and join with a normal client.
Does LoginTo work on Folia and Velocity?
Yes. Its builds list Folia and Waterfall alongside Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur, and Velocity and BungeeCord as proxy targets. The newest build requires no other plugins on any of them.
Does LoginTo need a permissions plugin?
The page does not say a permissions plugin is required. It lists its own nodes, such as loginto.register and loginto.login, which a permissions manager can assign if you want to control who may use each command.
Can premium players skip the password?
Yes. LoginTo offers autologin for premium and Bedrock players, so they are not asked for a password.
