MCXboxBroadcast

MCXboxBroadcast broadcasts a Geyser-run Java server over Xbox Live, so Bedrock and console friends see it as a joinable session instead of a bare IP address.

MCXboxBroadcast solves one specific problem. A Java Edition server running Geyser, the proxy that lets Bedrock and console players connect to a Java server, has no built-in way to show up on the Xbox Live friends list the way an official Bedrock Realm does. MCXboxBroadcast signs in with a Microsoft account, tells Xbox Live that the server is a joinable session, and keeps that listing's player count and status line updated automatically. It runs inside Geyser as an extension, so Geyser has to be installed and working first; MCXboxBroadcast does not replace it and cannot broadcast a server that Geyser is not already bridging.

What it changes for Bedrock and console players

Without this tool, a console or Bedrock player joining a Geyser server has to type an IP address and port into the servers list, the same way you would join a private LAN game. With MCXboxBroadcast running, the server appears under Joinable Friends in the in-game friends tab, the Xbox app, and xbox.com, the same list a Realm would occupy. Anyone who follows the signed-in Microsoft account on Xbox Live can tap it and join directly, no address to type or remember.

Installing MCXboxBroadcast as a Geyser extension

  1. 1.Download MCXboxBroadcastExtension.jar from the Modrinth files page for a build matching the server's Minecraft version.
  2. 2.Drop the jar into Geyser's own extensions folder, not the server's plugins folder; the two are separate directories even on a Paper or Spigot server.
  3. 3.Restart the server so Geyser loads the extension.
  4. 4.Watch the console for a Microsoft sign-in link and a one-time code, open the link, and enter the code.
  5. 5.Follow the signed-in account on Xbox Live, then check the in-game friends tab for the new listing.

Standalone mode versus the Geyser extension

Modrinth only distributes the Geyser extension build covered above. A separate standalone jar and Docker image, published on GitHub rather than Modrinth, run the same broadcaster on its own and point at a target server's IP and port through a config.yml file instead of loading inside Geyser. That mode still needs a Geyser-bridged server on the other end; it just does not have to run on the same machine or inside the same process as Geyser itself, which suits setups where Geyser runs on a separate proxy or hosting panel process.

Managing accounts and version support

Server owners running several servers, or swapping the Microsoft account in use, manage this through console commands rather than a config toggle. accounts list shows every signed-in account and its follower count, accounts add signs in a new one, and accounts remove signs one out for good; there is no undo, so re-adding a removed account means running the Microsoft sign-in flow again. On versions, MCXboxBroadcast ships a new build for nearly every Minecraft drop. The current build, 154 from September 15, 2026, declares support for 26.2. The line before it (builds 133 through 148) covers the 26.1.x drops, and the line before that (builds 111 through 132) covers 1.21.10 and 1.21.11. Grabbing the build that matches an older server, rather than always pulling the newest file, is the safer default.

Setting up MCXboxBroadcast to let console players join

Questions about MCXboxBroadcast.

5 questions

Do I need Geyser installed before using MCXboxBroadcast?

Yes. MCXboxBroadcast loads as an extension inside Geyser and has nothing to broadcast without it. Geyser is the proxy that lets Bedrock and console players connect to a Java Edition server at all; MCXboxBroadcast only adds the Xbox Live friends list listing on top of a Geyser server that is already running and reachable.

Does MCXboxBroadcast also require Floodgate?

No. Floodgate is a separate Geyser companion that lets Bedrock players join an online-mode server without a Java account. MCXboxBroadcast only needs Geyser itself; it works whether or not Floodgate is installed, since its job is the Xbox Live listing, not player authentication.

How do I remove a Microsoft account from MCXboxBroadcast?

Run accounts list in the console to find the account's sub-session ID, then accounts remove <sub-session-id> to sign it out. There is no confirmation step and no automatic restore, so removing the wrong account means repeating the Microsoft sign-in flow to add it back.

Can MCXboxBroadcast run without sitting inside Geyser?

Yes, through the standalone build published on GitHub rather than Modrinth. It runs as its own Java process and points at a target server's IP and port in a config file, so Geyser can run on a different machine or process. The Modrinth listing only covers the in-Geyser extension build.

Will using MCXboxBroadcast get a Microsoft account banned?

The project cannot promise it will not, since the tool signs in as a real account and imitates client behavior to stay listed as online. Its own documentation recommends a spare Microsoft account rather than a main one, precisely because that behavior sits outside what a normal login does.
