Akropolis is a lobby and hub core plugin for Paper and Purpur, the kind of Akropolis plugin Minecraft networks use to shape the first screen players see. It is a modernised successor to DeluxeHub by ItsLewizzz, reworked around MiniMessage styling and the Paper API. It runs on the server only, so players join normally and install nothing.
Server software and versions
- Paper and Purpur: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally NoteBlockAPI, MiniPlaceholders and PlaceholderAPI.
What it handles
- Custom hotbar items and configurable menus.
- Join settings and world event controls.
- Scoreboard and tablist display.
- Chat formats and cooldowns, plus automatic broadcast messages.
- Actions that fire on player and world events.
- A song player for NBS music files and a fight mode for a little action in the lobby.
Installation
- 1.Get the plugin file from the Modrinth page.
- 2.Place it in the plugins folder of your Paper or Purpur server.
The general steps are covered in how to install plugins on a Minecraft server. The creator also offers pre-release snapshots for anyone who wants the newest features, with the warning that they are less tested than stable releases.
Styling and placeholders
Text uses MiniMessage, which gives advanced chat styling and vivid colour palettes. Placeholders are designed around MiniPlaceholders, integrated with that styling. PlaceholderAPI also works through a custom format, so existing setups can carry over.
Questions about Akropolis.
3 questions
How do I install Akropolis?
Put the plugin file in the plugins folder of a Paper or Purpur server and restart the server. Players need nothing installed on their side, since they join with a normal client.
Does Akropolis work on Spigot?
No. Akropolis is written for the Paper API and supports Paper and modern software derived from it, such as Purpur. If your network runs plain Spigot, you would need to move to Paper first, or choose DeluxeHub, the plugin Akropolis is based on.
Do I need PlaceholderAPI for Akropolis?
No. PlaceholderAPI is supported as an option through a custom format, which helps if your network already relies on its placeholders.
