TerraformGenerator

A world generator plugin that keeps the vanilla feel while adding reworked structures and extra biomes. It generates slower than vanilla, so pregeneration is advised.

TerraformGenerator is a world generator plugin that augments vanilla terrain with an enhanced vanilla feel. It targets Folia, Paper, Spigot and Purpur, and it is needed on the server only. Players join as usual and install nothing.

Server software and versions

  • Folia: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Paper and Spigot: Minecraft 1.18 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Purpur: Minecraft 1.18 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it changes

The world stays playable with every vanilla item obtainable. Important structures behave like their vanilla counterparts, so the move from vanilla survival is smooth. Some structures can spawn mobs such as Guardians and Pillagers.

  • Improved structures, including reworked Mansions, Strongholds and Pyramids.
  • Vanilla feature preservation, with new major vanilla worldgen features given high priority.
  • Enhanced vanilla biomes plus new biomes, some with non-vanilla biome colours.

Installation

The plugin needs Java 16 or newer. If you have not added a plugin before, the plugin install guide covers the basics.

  1. 1.Stop the server.
  2. 2.Place the plugin file in the plugins folder.
  3. 3.In bukkit.yml, add a worlds section naming your world, with the line generator: TerraformGenerator beneath it.
  4. 4.Delete the old world folder if one exists, then start the server.

Only follow the world manager steps if you want several overworlds. A single world needs no manager, and the wiki explains the Multiverse-Core setup. Servers on 1.16 or 1.17 need an older release listed on Spigot.

Commands

The commands are developer tools, available only to operators. Leave them alone unless you understand what they do. The wiki holds the configuration reference and images of most biomes and structures.

Questions about TerraformGenerator.

4 questions

How do I install TerraformGenerator?

Stop the server, put the plugin file in the plugins folder, and add a worlds entry to bukkit.yml with generator: TerraformGenerator under your world name. Delete the old world folder if there is one, then start the server. Java 16 or newer is required.

Does TerraformGenerator work on Folia?

Yes. Folia is one of the software targets with published releases, alongside Paper, Spigot and Purpur. The newest release for each needs no other plugin installed.

Does TerraformGenerator affect server performance?

World generation is slower than vanilla because the plugin was not built to generate terrain live. The creator advises pregenerating the world regardless of hardware, which moves the cost out of normal play.

Do players need to install TerraformGenerator?

No. It is a server-side plugin, so players join with an unmodified client. Only the server owner adds the plugin file and edits bukkit.yml.
