VoidGen turns any world into an empty void space, built for Paper, Spigot, Folia, Purpur and Bukkit hosts, with each loader's build range topping out at 26.2. NicoNekoDev maintains this fork after the original author went inactive on GitHub and SpigotMC, keeping it current for the newest releases. Players don't need to change anything on their end; the void generation happens entirely on the hosting side.
Installation and setup
Add the plugin file to the plugins folder on a Paper, Spigot, Folia, Purpur or Bukkit host and restart; the plugin install guide covers the general steps. The newest release needs nothing extra to generate the void terrain itself.
World management with Multiverse-Core
Owners not running a world-management plugin can just restart after adding VoidGen and the generator applies to their default world automatically. Those running Multiverse-Core create or import a void world by pointing its generator flag at VoidGen, then set the properties file's level-type to FLAT so void darkness starts at Y=0 instead of Y=64.
- Paper, Spigot and Bukkit builds cover 1.8.8 through 26.2
- Folia builds cover 1.8.8 through 26.2
- Purpur builds cover 1.15 through 26.2
Fork lineage and licensing
This release is a fork of the original VoidGen, continued after that author stopped updating it. NicoNekoDev's fork adds coverage through the newest releases and carries a GPL-3.0-only licence, so anyone redistributing the code needs to keep that licence attached.
Questions about VoidGen.
5 questions
How do I add VoidGen to my setup
Drop the plugin file into the plugins folder on a Paper, Spigot, Folia, Purpur or Bukkit host and restart. No extra dependency is required for the void generation itself, though the process follows the same steps as any other plugin addition on those platforms.
Does VoidGen work on Folia
Yes. Folia builds are published for every release covering 1.8.8 through 26.2, the same range offered for Paper, Spigot and Bukkit.
Is VoidGen a fork of another plugin
Yes. The current maintainer, NicoNekoDev, forked the original VoidGen after its original author stopped updating it on GitHub and SpigotMC, then extended builds to cover the newest releases.
Do I need Multiverse-Core to use VoidGen
No. VoidGen's default-world generation works without any other plugin. Multiverse-Core only becomes relevant if it is already managing world creation or imports, in which case its generator flag gets pointed at VoidGen.
Which releases does VoidGen support
Paper, Spigot, Bukkit and Folia builds span 1.8.8 through 26.2, giving those loaders the widest version coverage. Purpur support covers a narrower range, 1.15 through 26.2, so servers running older Purpur builds below that floor won't find a matching release.
