Anti Xray is an anti xray resource pack for Java by Phoenix616. It restores the default models that xray texture packs replace, so ores go back to solid, non see-through blocks. It is built to be applied as a server resource pack, and it needs no mods or plugins to do its job.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.15 to 26.2.
How it stops xray packs
Xray packs work by swapping block models for see-through ones. This pack puts the default models back without overriding any textures from other packs. Players can keep their own local texture packs, and only the custom models that make xray possible are blocked.
Used as a server resource pack, it always overrides any other xray pack. That makes it a useful stopgap on a plain Vanilla setup, or when no good ore obfuscation exists yet for a new release or snapshot.
Lite or full variant
- Full is the default file. It restores every block model and completely stops see-through blocks, but it breaks custom models from other resource packs.
- Lite restores only the ore models. It is the safer pick if items or blocks look strange with your other packs.
- To get lite, choose your release from the versions list on Modrinth and take the second zip under Files.
Installation
Put the zip in the resourcepacks folder (Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder), then move it to the Selected side. The steps are the same as in our guide to installing resource packs. A pack built for another game release can still load but shows an incompatibility warning.
For server owners, the pack only protects when players actually use it. Force it with a plugin that kicks anyone who declines the pack, or use the required pack option added in 1.17.
Questions about Anti Xray.
4 questions
Does the Anti Xray resource pack stop xray mods?
No. It only blocks xray texture packs by restoring default block models. Xray mods work differently and are not covered. The creator advises using an ore obfuscator, such as the one built into Paper, alongside this pack when one is available for your release.
What is the difference between Anti Xray lite and full?
The full variant restores all block models and completely stops see-through blocks, but it can break custom models from other resource packs. The lite variant restores only ore models, so it stays compatible with most other packs. Lite is the second zip under Files.
How do I make players use an anti xray resource pack?
Set it as your server resource pack, then force it. A plugin can kick anyone who does not accept the pack, or you can use the required pack feature added in 1.17. Without forcing, a player can simply decline it and keep their xray pack.
Is Anti Xray available for Bedrock?
No. Anti Xray is a Java resource pack only. It is distributed as zip files on Modrinth and is meant to be applied as a server resource pack for Java players. It will not load on Bedrock, which uses a different pack format, so Bedrock players cannot use it.
