Better BetterX is a 16x resource pack for Java that swaps a handful of textures in the BetterX mods for ones that sit closer to vanilla and to other mods. It is a consistency patch for BetterNether and BetterEnd, not a full retexture, and it applies on the player's side only.

What changes visually
gayasslily built the pack to fix inconsistencies and oddities in the BetterX mods, and to give parity and compatibility with other mods. Blocks and items are the covered areas. Every texture is either taken from a BetterX mod or drawn by gayasslily, so the style stays at 16x and nothing arrives from an unrelated art source.
How to install Better BetterX
- 1.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the .zip in.
- 2.Move Better BetterX to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
Steps for every pack of this type are in the resource pack install guide. A pack built for a different release can still load, but the game shows an incompatibility warning.
Known limitations
The scope is narrow by design, so it will not change the overall look of your game. The pack is Java only and has no Bedrock port. It also has no public repository or issue tracker, so problems have nowhere to be reported beyond the Modrinth page.

How do I install Better BetterX?

Does Better BetterX work on 1.20.1?
Yes. The creator describes the pack as still usable on 1.20.1, which falls inside the 1.19 to 1.21.5 range the builds cover. If the game shows an incompatibility warning, the pack can still load. A pack made for another release loads the same way, with the same warning.
Is Better BetterX available for Bedrock?
No. Better BetterX is a Java Edition pack only. Bedrock uses a different pack format, so this one will not carry over. Anyone on Bedrock would need a pack made in that format, which this one is not. Check the Modrinth page before downloading if you are unsure of your edition.
