Durability Viewer is a Bedrock resource pack that puts item durability on screen, the practical answer to a durability viewer for Bedrock. It shows your held tool on the HUD and adds durability to hover text in inventory and chest screens. A separate behavior pack extends the readout to armor and shield.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.18 to 26.50.
What it shows
- Mainhand item durability on the HUD.
- Durability in the hover text of container screens such as the inventory and chests.
- A blink animation when durability drops below 20%.
- Armor durability in the bottom left of the HUD (needs the behavior pack).
- Shield durability on the HUD (needs the behavior pack).
- Config options through the _global_variables.json file.
The pack is mainly a resource pack, so tool readouts work without anything else.
How to install Durability Viewer
Get the resource pack file from CurseForge and activate it in your world's settings under Resource Packs. For armor and shield readouts, also get the behavior pack file, from CurseForge or from MCPEDL (the file with BP in its name), and activate it under Behavior Packs. If you have not imported a pack before, the guide on how to install add-ons on Bedrock covers each step, and fixing add-ons that will not work helps if a pack does not appear.
Questions about Durability Viewer.
3 questions
Does Durability Viewer show armor durability?
Yes, but only with the behavior pack activated next to the resource pack. The resource pack alone shows the durability of your held tool on the HUD and in container hover text. The behavior pack adds armor and shield durability to the HUD.
Can I use Durability Viewer on Java Edition?
No. It is a Bedrock pack, and Java cannot load it. Bedrock imports the pack file when you open it with the game, then you switch it on per world in the world settings.
Does Durability Viewer work for PvP on multiplayer hosts?
The behavior pack cannot be used on multiplayer hosts, so armor and shield readouts will not appear there. For PvP, the creator points players to Utility HUD instead. The resource pack on its own covers tool durability on the HUD and in container hover text, and the behavior pack is only needed for armor and shield.
