What FPS Optimizer works with.

PlatformBedrock Edition
Minecraft versions1.21, 26.3, 26.10, 26.11, 26.12, 26.13, 26.20, 26.30, 26.40, 26.50

FPS Optimizer is a Bedrock-only resource pack by XiaoCraft, under 1 MB, built to optimize FPS on Bedrock. It does not restyle anything. It reduces how much work your device has to do, so frame rates rise and stay steadier while the world still looks like vanilla. It runs on Android, iOS/iPadOS, Windows 10/11, Xbox and PlayStation.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21 to 26.50.

What it changes

You pick one of two subpacks. Default pushes fog past the horizon. Max FPS is the aggressive option for weak hardware.

  • Default removes 48 heavy particle effects. Max FPS switches to short-range fog starting around 60 blocks and removes 177 of the 192 vanilla particle effects.
  • All 89 biomes in 26.50 have their own fog entry, plus a catch-all default. None of the 104 fog definitions use volumetric fog.
  • Max FPS freezes 70 of 80 animated textures, including water, lava, portals and bubble columns. Fire stays animated so it is easy to spot.
  • Pumpkin blur, rain splashes and the End sky flashes are cleared in both modes, and rain and snow are thinned right down.
  • Sound is retuned across 90 entities and 44 sound events, with rain, cave ambience and portal hum turned down.
  • A built-in durability display, animated durability bars and a numbered hotbar are active in both modes.

The gear icon opens ten in-game controls: two sliders (Particle Amount and Burst Limit) and eight toggles for potion effects, witch and evoker magic, arrow trails, cauldron effects, geysers, noxious gas, sulfur and experience orbs. Changes apply without a reinstall.

How to install FPS Optimizer

  1. 1.Get the .mcpack file from the CurseForge page and open it. Bedrock imports it automatically.
  2. 2.Go to Settings, then Global Resources, or use World, then Resource Packs for a single world.
  3. 3.Activate FPS Optimizer and choose the Max FPS or Default subpack.
  4. 4.Tap the gear icon to tune the particle controls.

No experimental features are needed, and existing worlds work without a reset. It runs in single-player, on Realms and in multiplayer worlds. If the import fails, the add-on install guide covers the steps in detail.

Questions about FPS Optimizer.

4 questions

How do I install FPS Optimizer on Bedrock?

Open the .mcpack file and Bedrock imports it. Then go to Settings, Global Resources, activate FPS Optimizer and pick the Max FPS or Default subpack. For one world only, use that world's Resource Packs menu instead. No experimental toggles are required.

Is FPS Optimizer available for Java Edition?

No. It is a Bedrock resource pack, and Java uses a different pack format, so this file cannot be loaded there. It targets Android, iOS/iPadOS, Windows 10/11, Xbox and PlayStation.

Will FPS Optimizer change how Bedrock looks?

Only slightly. It keeps the vanilla look but clears pumpkin blur, thins rain and snow, removes many particles and, in Max FPS, freezes most animated textures such as water and lava. It also adds a durability display and a numbered hotbar.

Do I need a new world to use FPS Optimizer?

No. FPS Optimizer works on existing worlds with no reset, so your current saves stay as they are. Enable it globally under Global Resources or for a single world under that world's Resource Packs. It also works on Realms and in multiplayer worlds, and no experimental features are required.
