Optimum Realism Bedrock carries the well-known Java resource pack into Bedrock as a realistic PBR pack. It targets Vibrant Visuals, RTX and deferred shaders, and runs on PC, console and mobile. It is a resource pack only, so it loads per world like any other.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 0.16 to 26.50.

What changes visually

The Bedrock pack is generated by an automated pipeline that converts the full Java pack to Bedrock RTX format. Every block gets the same PBR treatment, which means no manual conversion gaps between old and new blocks. More than 690 PBR materials are covered.

  • Colour and normal maps for surface detail
  • Height (displacement) maps for depth
  • Emissive, metallic and roughness maps for light and material response
  • Opacity maps for translucent blocks

Shaders and hardware

Vibrant Visuals needs no extra mods and works on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and 5, Android, iOS and PC. For raytracing, the pack works with the BetterRTX mod and only needs an RTX graphics card. Deferred shaders such as YSS SE also work. On PC a GTX 1050 is suggested but not required, and phones should be mid-range. Frame rate depends on your world and shader settings.

Resolutions and installation

The 64x pack is free. The 128x and 256x tiers are member-exclusive, which is the main trade-off if you want sharper textures. Import the downloaded file by opening it with Bedrock, then switch it on in the world's Resource Packs settings. The add-on install guide covers each platform, and the troubleshooting guide helps if the pack does not appear.

Questions about Optimum Realism for Bedrock Edition.

4 questions

Does Optimum Realism Bedrock need the BetterRTX mod?

No. BetterRTX is only needed for raytracing, and then you just need an RTX graphics card. The pack also works with Vibrant Visuals, which needs no extra mods, and with deferred shaders such as YSS SE on PC and mobile.

Is Optimum Realism for Bedrock free?

Partly. The 64x pack is free. The higher resolutions, 128x and 256x, are member-exclusive and are not part of the free file.

Does Optimum Realism work on console and mobile?

Yes, through Vibrant Visuals. It works on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and 5, Android, iOS and PC without extra mods. Deferred shaders on mobile suit a mid-range device, with YSS SE as the shader the creator names for phones.

How do I install Optimum Realism on Bedrock?

Open the downloaded .mcpack or .mcaddon file with Bedrock and it imports itself. Then open your world's settings, go to Resource Packs and activate Optimum Realism. For a manual install on Windows, the pack folder goes into the resource_packs folder under com.mojang.
