Solar Shaders

A Bedrock-only visual pack that puts the world in permanent golden hour, with biome-tuned fog, god rays and gold-to-blue skies. It only works with Vibrant Visuals switched on.

Solar Shaders is a Bedrock resource pack that holds the world in permanent golden hour. Amber god rays cut through the canopy, skies shift from gold to rose to blue, and fog is tuned biome by biome. It layers on top of Vibrant Visuals, so it is a Bedrock-only visual pack and Java cannot load it.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 26.10 to 26.50.

What changes visually

  • Volumetric fog with 13 profiles across 89 biomes, including a rose-pink Cherry Grove.
  • Golden god rays and custom colour grading.
  • Layered gold-to-blue skies from dawn to midnight, plus dedicated Nether and End lighting and skies.
  • Ambient particles such as aurora, shooting stars, meteor showers, wind streaks, sand and snow dust, birds and butterflies.
  • Rain puddles and splashes, and 109 coloured light sources.

Two resolution subpacks ship together, Default and High. High carries full PBR textures, while Default still gets PBR water and lava. The pack states it is compatible with other packs.

How to install Solar Shaders

  1. 1.Get the .mcpack file from the CurseForge page and open it with Minecraft so it imports.
  2. 2.Open your world's settings and switch the pack on under Resource Packs.
  3. 3.Keep Vibrant Visuals turned on, since the pack only works with it.

If the import fails or the pack does not appear, the add-on install guide and the troubleshooting guide cover the usual causes.

Known limitations

The look is deliberately one mood, warm and dusky, so players who want a neutral or vanilla-bright sky will find it heavy-handed.

Questions about Solar Shaders.

4 questions

Does Solar Shaders work without Vibrant Visuals?

No. The pack only works with Vibrant Visuals turned on. Switch the pack on in your world's resource pack settings and keep Vibrant Visuals on alongside it. With Vibrant Visuals off, the golden hour look will not appear, so the fog, god rays and sky changes stay hidden.

Is Solar Shaders available for Java?

No. Solar Shaders is a Bedrock Edition resource pack, and Java Edition cannot load it because Java uses a different format. The pack is listed in CurseForge's Bedrock section, and its newest file is a .mcpack, which imports into Minecraft Bedrock when opened with Minecraft.

What is the difference between the Default and High subpacks?

Solar Shaders ships two resolution subpacks, Default and High. High carries full PBR textures, while Default still includes PBR water and lava. So the difference lies in how far PBR extends, full textures in High, only water and lava in Default. Both are part of the same pack.

Can I use Solar Shaders with other packs?

The pack states it is compatible with other packs. Switch each pack on in the world's resource pack settings. Remember that Vibrant Visuals must stay on for Solar Shaders to show its fog, skies and light effects.
