Revolution Vibrant Visuals is a Bedrock resource pack from Aleeee that rebuilds lighting around deferred rendering. It aims to make Bedrock look as close to Minecraft Java as it can. It runs either as a Vibrant Visuals pack or as a deferred pack, and the creator prefers the deferred route because every feature is available there.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 26.50.

What changes visually

  • The environment follows the biome, so cold areas feel freezing and hot ones feel warm.
  • Godrays take their colour from the biome you stand in.
  • Armor and tools reflect light, and minerals glow.
  • Static, often coloured light on most light-emitting blocks, with more promised over time.
  • Deferred lighting and PBR on torches, lanterns, copper bulbs, glowstone, lava, fire, portals, respawn anchors and crying obsidian, plus lush cave berries.

Three variants

Realistic Revolution adds realistic water waves, cubemap clouds, caustics, and a realistic sun and moon. Default Revolution keeps the waves and caustics but returns to vanilla clouds, sun and moon. Vanilla Revolution leaves water flat, with vanilla clouds, caustics, sun and moon. Pick Vanilla if you want the lighting upgrade without a changed sky. The screenshots use the Medium Realistic Sky from the Hyper Realistic pack, while this pack ships its own cubemap.

Requirements and trade-offs

Aleeee says this is the first deferred project they have made, so some existing deferred packs may be more polished. The models build on Vanilla Reforged, used with permission from QuirkyPlague.

How to install

Open the .mcpack or .mcaddon file with Minecraft and it imports itself. Then switch the pack on under Resource Packs in the world's settings. If the pack refuses to appear or load, the guide on fixing add-ons that do not work covers the usual causes, and the Bedrock add-on install guide walks through the import step by step.

Questions about Revolution Vibrant Visuals.

4 questions

How do I turn on Revolution Vibrant Visuals?

Import the pack, then enable the beta or preview in Bedrock. When you create or edit a world, switch on the Vibrant Visuals option and activate the pack under Resource Packs. The creator prefers running it as a deferred pack, which unlocks every feature.

Does Revolution Vibrant Visuals work on Java?

No. It is a Bedrock pack only, and Java cannot load it. It aims to make Bedrock look as similar as possible to Java using deferred lighting, but the files only work in Bedrock.

What GPU does Revolution Vibrant Visuals need?

On mobile, an Adreno 640 (Snapdragon 855), a Mediatek 1000 series Mali GPU, or an A12 Bionic. On PC, a GPU with DirectX 12 FL11 is recommended. Vibrant Visuals itself needs the beta or preview in Bedrock and the Vibrant Visuals option switched on when you create or edit a world.

Which variant of Revolution Vibrant Visuals should I pick?

Realistic Revolution has realistic water waves, cubemap clouds, caustics, and a realistic sun and moon. Default keeps the realistic waves and caustics but uses vanilla clouds, sun and moon. Vanilla Revolution uses waveless vanilla water with vanilla clouds, caustics, sun and moon. Pick by how much of the water and sky you want changed.
