Newb Complementary is a shader pack for Bedrock that recreates the look of Java's Complementary Shaders. Aleeee built it from scratch for players on Android, Windows and iOS who want Java-like lighting without leaving Bedrock. This Newb Complementary shader uses no code from Emin's Complementary Shaders and is not an official creation by him.

What changes visually
The pack ships as Reimagined, Unbound and Lite variants. Its target is the look of Complementary Reimagined, applied to Bedrock's renderer.
- Warm, Java-like lighting with side shadows and sun rays.
- Realistic water, plus bloom, movement and caustics underwater.
- Clouds and sky colours modelled on Complementary Reimagined, with matching stars.
- Sunrises, sunsets, aurora and a colourful vanilla sky.
- Glow on ores and light-emitting blocks.
- Plant movement, a wet effect in rain, and bloom on the sun and moon during rain.
- An improved End Complementary look.
How to install Newb Complementary
The setup is heavier than a normal resource pack, so read the steps first. The general import routine is covered in installing add-ons on Bedrock.
- 1.Remove any older release of this shader first, to avoid errors.
- 2.Install MBLoader. Windows also needs Wyvern; if that fails, replace the material.bin files with Maject. iOS needs Minecraft Hynis.
- 3.Open the downloaded pack file with Bedrock to import it.
- 4.Activate it under Resource Packs in the world settings and move it above every other active pack.
Who it suits
Pick it if you want the Complementary look on a Bedrock device and accept the extra tooling.
