Gradius VibrantShader is a realistic shader pack for Minecraft Java, built for low-end PCs and Intel HD and UHD integrated graphics. It runs on Iris and OptiFine and is a local install only. The aim is bright, crisp lighting without giving up a playable frame rate.

Shader loaders and versions

  • Iris and OptiFine: Minecraft 1.11 to 26.2.

Effects

  • Crispy bright lighting and a darker night.
  • Water reflections and godrays.
  • TAA anti-aliasing and optimized shadows.
  • Waving trees and leaves, plus dynamic grass movement.
  • Cinematic lens flares and rain lens effects, with water droplets during rain and thunderstorms.

How to install

  1. 1.Install Iris Shaders (or OptiFine). The pack needs OpenGL 2.1 support.
  2. 2.Download the shader .zip from Modrinth and place it in the shaderpacks folder.
  3. 3.Open Video Settings, then Shader Packs, and select Gradius VibrantShader.

Performance and trade-offs

The creator's benchmarks used Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric with Sodium and Iris, at default settings and 4 GB of memory. An Intel Core i3 11th Gen with Intel UHD Graphics reached 48 to 55 FPS at 1920×1080. An i5 12th Gen with UHD 730 managed about 36 FPS, and an i3 12th Gen with UHD Graphics 30 to 40 FPS. An i5 4th Gen with HD 4600 reached 23 to 34 FPS at 1280×720.

The feature set is still growing. Planned additions include shader grass, better rain and thunder, improved Nether, End and underwater visuals, and experimental real-time ray tracing settings. None of these ship in the 1.0 release. Pair the pack with TAA-style anti-aliasing knowledge if you want to understand the edge smoothing it uses.

Questions about Gradius VibrantShader.

3 questions

Does Gradius VibrantShader work with Iris and OptiFine?

Yes. Both Iris and OptiFine are listed as supported loaders, and the newest release lists no extra dependencies. The creator's benchmarks used Iris with Sodium on Fabric. The pack needs OpenGL 2.1 support and runs on Java only, not Bedrock.

Is Gradius VibrantShader good for low-end PCs?

It is designed for them, with an emphasis on Intel HD and UHD integrated graphics. The creator reports 48 to 55 FPS on an Intel Core i3 11th Gen at 1080p and lower figures on older chips. Results vary by hardware, so treat them as a guide.

How do I install Gradius VibrantShader?

Install Iris or OptiFine, place the shader .zip in the shaderpacks folder, then pick it under Video Settings and Shader Packs. Installing it on a dedicated host is unsupported, so use it on your own PC only.
