RITEG VHS is a VHS shader pack for Java that runs the whole image through a worn-tape filter. It works with Iris and OptiFine, sits in the cursed and vanilla-like categories, and is rated potato for performance impact. It is a player-side pack only.

Effects
The pack is a post-processing port of a VHS filter pipeline untodesu first wrote for a shader sandbox called RITEG. It includes three effects.
- Non-linear color curves that try to squeeze the image into a lower dynamic range.
- YIQ bleeding, where color smears across the frame like a poor tape signal.
- Luminance and chrominance noise.
The pack is based on Base-Shader by Bestsoft101. The VHS mangling loosely follows a VHS compression shader. untodesu notes that the YIQ bleeding is not really original work and points to the attribution.
Installing the pack

Does RITEG VHS work with Iris and OptiFine?
Yes. Both loaders have builds for the same range, 1.21.10 to 1.21.11, and neither build lists any required dependency. Install Iris or OptiFine, place the .zip in the shaderpacks folder, then select the pack in the shader menu.
Is RITEG VHS good for low-end PCs?
Modrinth tags it as potato, which places it at the lightest performance tier. That is an editorial filter, not a hardware promise. The pack only applies post-processing effects, so it does not add heavy world rendering.
