Nightmare Overload is a horror survival addon for Minecraft Bedrock that turns the Overworld into a foggy, hostile place where creatures stalk and chase you. It runs on Bedrock only and supports multiplayer. The core survival loop stays vanilla, with the tension layered on top.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 26.0 to 26.40.

What it adds

Visibility drops under dense atmospheric fog, and ambient horror sound makes caves and forests unsettling. Danger comes from creatures with their own behaviours, plus abandoned structures that hold loot and mystery. The oceans get their own threat too.

  • Creatures: The Bloop, Cave Dweller, Goatman, The Man From The Fog, Don't Cry and Herobrine.
  • Sound: Terror Ambient and Immersive Ambient Sounds.
  • World: Abandoned & Ruined Structures, plus custom fog with merged compatibility fixes.

Installation

The newest file is the main pack without visuals, and it needs no experimental toggles and no other pack. If you have not imported an addon before, the install guide for Bedrock add-ons covers the details.

  1. 1.Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft so it imports.
  2. 2.Create a world or edit an existing one.
  3. 3.Switch on the behavior pack and resource pack in the world settings.
  4. 4.Play in survival mode, with headphones.

Visuals pack and trade-offs

A separate Nightmare Visuals Pack adds realistic textures, a dark custom GUI and directional audio. It is optional, and the creator suggests pairing it with Vibrant Visuals, which the addon now supports. The fog is meant to cut how far you can see, so raise render distance if your device allows.
