The Shadow in Nightmare is a horror add-on for Minecraft Bedrock by EnderFoxBoy_MC. An unidentified entity manipulates your survival world with strange glitches, and eventually it comes for you. It is Bedrock only, and Java cannot load it.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.21.30 to 26.40.
What it adds
The add-on centres on one creature, the Shadow. It has immortal health, so you cannot kill it, and it carries many skills. Its finishing move is a jumpscare that drags the victim into its own dimension. You can try to escape by moving away, but it consumes you in the end.
The pacing is slow on purpose. The first one to three days look normal. After that, odd phenomena and glitches appear and build toward the nightmare. The creator suggests playing survival for at least an hour and a half to see how it unfolds.
How to install The Shadow in Nightmare
- 1.Get the .mcaddon file from the CurseForge page and open it with Minecraft Bedrock so it imports.
- 2.Create or edit a survival world, then activate the add-on in the world settings.
- 3.Move the add-on to the top of the pack list. The creator warns that a lower position can cause bugs.
- 4.If imports fail, follow the Bedrock add-on install guide.
The newest file lists no required dependency packs. The pack data names no experimental toggles, so check the world settings only if the creator's page asks for them.
Where it fits
This is a narrow, atmosphere-first add-on built around a single entity, not a broad overhaul. If you want more survival horror for Bedrock, Herobrine Lurking and IT - Lost in Derry cover similar ground.

How do I install The Shadow in Nightmare on Bedrock?
Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft Bedrock so it imports, then activate the add-on in a world's settings. Put the add-on at the top of the pack list, because the creator warns that a lower position can cause bugs.
Can you kill the Shadow in this add-on?
No. The Shadow has immortal health. Its finishing move is a jumpscare that drags you into its dimension. You can try to escape by moving away, but it still consumes you in the end, so the aim is to survive its glitches for as long as you can.
How long should I play to see what the add-on does?
The first one to three days in survival look normal. Strange phenomena begin after that. The creator recommends at least an hour and a half of survival play to see the horror build up properly.
