The Fogwalker is a Bedrock addon by Bredman0304 that rebuilds the Man From The Fog as a psychological horror entity. It is a ground-up remake of the From The Fog Java mod, with new visuals and mechanics that follow the original lore. It is a single .mcaddon, it works on Bedrock only, and it does not use experimental features.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 26.13 to 26.30.
What it adds
The addon introduces one new entity, the Fogwalker. It reacts to how you play. Sleeping and staring straight at it both make it angrier, and spending long stretches far out in the world has the same effect. It can also take the body of certain animals and bring in vision-reducing fog.
You start a new world with two items, the Configuration item and the Cassette: Safety Instructions tape. The tape is played at a cassette player cabin, which is where the survival briefing lives. Another structure out in the world lets you place the Tear of the Man to keep the entity away for a while.
Four phases of escalation
- Psychological. The entity watches from a distance or hangs in trees and caves at night. Danger is minimal.
- Stalking. It comes closer and begins taking the shape of mobs. Skinwalkers give themselves away through their eyes and constant staring, and a bow or crossbow can drive them off.
- Deceitful. Sightings rise every night, torches burn out, and sleeping can bring jumpscares.
- Aggressive. It stops holding back. Low health is dangerous, and heavy bite damage can cause hemorrhage, which heals over time.
Killing the Fogwalker drops a Fog Tooth that summons lightning on demand. The Tear of the Man can also be earned by looking at a face entity at night.
Installation
Open the .mcaddon with Minecraft and it imports itself. Then switch on its behavior and resource packs in the world settings. No experiment toggles are required. If packs refuse to load, the add-on troubleshooting guide covers the usual causes, and the install guide walks through the steps for each platform.
Questions about The Fogwalker (The Man From The Fog Revamp).
3 questions
How do I install The Fogwalker on Bedrock?
Download the .mcaddon file from CurseForge and open it with Minecraft. On Windows a double-click works, and on phones and tablets you choose Minecraft to open it. After the import finishes, create or edit a world and activate the addon's behavior and resource packs in its settings.
Does The Fogwalker need experimental toggles?
No. The creator states plainly that this addon does not require experiments, so you can leave those world settings off. You only need to activate its behavior and resource packs. New worlds also give you the Configuration item and the Cassette: Safety Instructions tape at the start.
Can I play The Fogwalker on Java?
No. Addons are a Bedrock-only format and Java cannot load them. The Fogwalker is a Bedrock remake of the Java From The Fog mod, so Java players need that mod instead.
