True Backpack is a backpack addon for Minecraft Bedrock by TrueCowboy. It adds a wearable, dyeable storage item that you upgrade with extra slots and utility effects. It runs on Bedrock Edition only, and release 2.8.2 (April 2026) added six Christmas designs and achievement support.

What it adds
- A basic backpack with 27 slots, recolourable with dyes.
- Pocket upgrades in five tiers (basic, iron, golden, diamond, netherite) that raise capacity step by step to 72 slots.
- A Magnet upgrade that pulls nearby items into the backpack.
- A Return upgrade that makes the backpack appear where you died. The alternative Soul Bond upgrade stops you losing it at all, but you cannot fit both.
- An optional Add Friend upgrade that lets named players open your backpack. Everyone else is locked out, which helps against theft.
- Themed designs, including nine wolf variants, random panda styles, several cats, an axolotl, a capybara and a pumpkin.
Using the backpack
You need a backpack and interact with it to open its inventory. To wear it, break it with your hands and equip it from your inventory. It stays invisible while it sits in the hotbar. Sneak and interact to open the upgrade menu.
Special designs skip dye and ask for one material instead, such as white wool for the tuxedo cat or a carved pumpkin for the pumpkin backpack. A bone used in a backpack gives a wolf design that depends on the biome. Operators can switch Add Friend on or off with a command.
Installing it
Open the downloaded pack files with Bedrock so they import, then switch on both the behavior pack and the resource pack in the world settings. The Bedrock add-on install guide covers each platform.
The trade-off is focus. This addon does one job, storage, and some looks, such as pandas, are random, so a specific design can take several tries.

How do I wear True Backpack on my back?
