True Tools is a Bedrock addon that swaps routine vanilla tool work for specialist tools. It covers mining, tree felling, farming, building and colouring blocks. It is Bedrock only, so Java players cannot load it. TrueCowboy publishes it on CurseForge, and the newest update landed in 2026.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.21.70 to 26.40.
What it adds
- Hammer: mines like a pickaxe and breaks a 3 x 3 area.
- Lumberjack axe: fells a whole tree with a tree capitator ability.
- Snow shovel: digs a 3 x 3 patch of dirt or snow, and now breaks snow too.
- Spade fork: works crops in a 3 x 3 area.
- Sickle: behaves like a hoe, and using it on a growing crop breaks a 3 x 3 patch of crops and replants them automatically.
- Chisel: turns natural or construction blocks into their brick variants. A natural block cannot be turned back.
- Paint brush: colours blocks without manual dyeing. The paint runs out, but the brush never breaks, so you keep the paint pot full.
- Big shears, listed on the project page without further detail.
How to install True Tools
Download the pack from CurseForge and open the file with Minecraft on Windows, phone or tablet. It imports on its own. Then open your world's settings and switch the pack on under Resource Packs, and under Behavior Packs if one is included. The project page lists no required dependencies and names no experimental toggles. If the pack refuses to appear, the guide on fixing add-ons that do not work covers the usual causes. First-timers can start with the Bedrock add-on install guide.
Who it suits
This is a survival quality-of-life pack for builders and farmers who tire of one-block-at-a-time work. The trade-off is balance. A 3 x 3 hammer and an auto-replanting sickle speed up progression a lot, so pair them with care if you want a vanilla pace. The project page does not state Realms or dedicated server support, so test in a throwaway world first.
