Trek is a Minecraft datapack that adds more than 150 handcrafted structures to vanilla worldgen, from floating and water islands to pyramids, pillager forts, ships, and small ruins that only hint a settlement once stood there. It targets Minecraft Java from 1.19 through the current 26.2 drop, runs on the server or in a single-player world, and needs no resource pack or extra mod to display correctly.
What Trek adds to Minecraft worldgen
Structures spawn biome by biome. Jungle treehouses generate in rainforests, ice forts and igloo villages sit in snowy biomes, and desert ruins and oases turn up in arid regions. Trek also overhauls a handful of vanilla structures, including end cities and mansions, so a familiar find feels less predictable, with more overhauls planned. Spawn odds are weighted, so a landmark like a sunken city stays rare while smaller ruins and camps show up more often.
- Large builds: floating and water islands, pyramids, fortresses, mansions
- Mid-size builds: houses, camps, ships, towers, ancient buildings
- Small details: a campfire with cooking food, a broken well, ruins that mark where a settlement used to stand
How to install Trek
Trek ships as two packagings of the same structure set, so pick whichever fits how the world is already set up.
- 1.Download the datapack build from Modrinth and place it in saves/[world name]/datapacks for an existing world, or the same folder before generating a new one.
- 2.Prefer managing it like a mod instead? Download the Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt build and drop it in the mods folder. It adds the same structures, just packaged as a mod jar.
- 3.Restart the world or server, then confirm it loaded by typing /locate structure trek: in chat as an operator. Matching structure names autocomplete when the pack is active.
Compatibility with other worldgen datapacks and mods
Trek works out of the box with any datapack or mod that only reshapes existing biomes. A pack that adds whole new biomes needs explicit support before Trek's structures spawn there; confirmed support currently covers Terralith, Biomes O' Plenty, Regions Unexplored, Floravive, and Nature's Spirit. A biome-adding pack outside that list will simply not get Trek structures inside its new biomes, nothing else breaks. One known conflict is worth flagging directly: Stellarity can leave end city chests empty unless Stellarity loads after Trek, or the installed Stellarity build is 5.3.0 or newer.
Known issues and limits
Adding Trek to an existing world is safe, since new structures only generate in chunks that have not loaded yet. Removing it is mostly safe too. Existing structures stay in the world, though some already-generated loot chests can end up empty instead of respawning loot, a cosmetic quirk rather than a save-breaking one.

Questions about Trek.
5 questions
How do I install Trek?
Download the datapack build from Modrinth and place it in saves/[world name]/datapacks, or reload it into an existing world's datapacks folder. Prefer a mod-style install instead? Drop the Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt build into the mods folder and it loads the same structures. Either way, restart the world or server afterward.
Is Trek compatible with biome mods like Terralith?
Yes, for biome-reshaping packs by default, and Terralith is on Trek's confirmed support list along with Biomes O' Plenty, Regions Unexplored, Floravive, and Nature's Spirit. A biome-adding pack outside that list will not get Trek structures inside its new biomes until support is added.
Which Minecraft version does Trek support?
The current beta build, B0.6.2, covers Minecraft Java 1.21 through 26.2 across every packaging, including the plain datapack, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt. Earlier releases reached back to 1.19, so an older world may need an earlier Trek build.
Is Trek safe to add to or remove from an existing world?
Adding it is safe. New structures only generate in chunks that have not loaded yet, so nothing changes near existing builds. Removing it is mostly safe too: existing structures stay in the world, though some already-placed loot chests can end up empty instead of respawning loot.
Does Trek need a companion resource pack?
No. Trek is a vanilla structure generation datapack at heart, built entirely from vanilla blocks and existing textures, so it needs no resource pack and no other mod to look right.
