Explorify dark forest settlement nestled among dark oak trees in Minecraft

Explorify is a vanilla-friendly data pack that scatters new structures across your Minecraft world, from roadside taverns and desert shrines to stranded end shipwrecks. It runs on Minecraft 1.19 through 1.21.11 as a plain data pack with no other mods required, and the same project also ships as a Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt mod if you would rather load it that way.

What Explorify adds

The pack focuses on small, hand-built structures that fit the base game's look instead of large modded set pieces. You come across them while exploring normally, and most reward a short detour with loot, shelter, or a bit of atmosphere.

  • Overworld buildings such as taverns, farmsteads, campsites, watchtowers, and a dark forest settlement.
  • Biome-specific sites including desert shrines, badlands pyramids, mangrove huts, and ruins.
  • Eerie finds like mausoleums and a spiral structure for players who like exploring the unusual.
  • An end shipwreck that gives the End something new to search after the dragon fight.

How to install Explorify

As a data pack, Explorify drops straight into a world's save folder, which makes it easy to add to an existing or brand new world.

  1. 1.Download the Explorify data pack from the Modrinth project page.
  2. 2.Open your world's save folder and go into the datapacks directory (.minecraft/saves/<world>/datapacks).
  3. 3.Copy the downloaded zip into that datapacks folder without unzipping it.
  4. 4.Load the world, then run /reload or rejoin so the new structures register.
  5. 5.If you prefer a loader, download the Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt version instead and place it in your mods folder.

Multiplayer and server use

Explorify works on servers as well as in single player. On a dedicated server, place the data pack in the world's datapacks folder rather than on each player's client, since structure generation is handled server-side. Players do not need to install anything locally to see the structures when they explore.

Pairing with worldgen data packs

Because Explorify only adds structures and leaves vanilla terrain alone, it slots in well alongside biome and terrain packs. Many players run it next to overworld overhauls like Terralith or nether expansions like Incendium so new structures appear across the reworked landscapes. If you want even more buildings, structure-focused projects such as Repurposed Structures cover similar ground.

Questions about Explorify.

5 questions

How do I install Explorify?

Download the data pack from the Modrinth project page and drop the zip, still zipped, into your world's datapacks folder at .minecraft/saves/<world>/datapacks. Load the world and run /reload, or rejoin, so the structures register. If you prefer a loader, grab the Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt version and put it in your mods folder instead.

Does Explorify need a resource pack or other mods?

No. Explorify is vanilla-friendly and works on its own. The data pack version needs no loader and no companion resource pack, and the mod versions for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt do not require additional dependencies to add the structures.

Does Explorify work on multiplayer servers?

Yes. Install the data pack in the server world's datapacks folder, since structure generation runs server-side. Players who join and explore will find the new structures without installing anything on their own clients.

Which Minecraft versions does Explorify support?

Explorify covers Minecraft 1.19 through 1.21.11, including 1.20.1, 1.21, and the later 1.21 updates. Pick the file that matches your version, and check the project page for the newest supported release before downloading.

Will Explorify structures appear in my existing world?

Only in chunks you have not generated yet. Existing, already-explored areas stay the same, but new structures will start spawning as you travel into fresh terrain after adding the pack.
