The DarkRPG modpack turns Java survival into a fantasy RPG with 1800+ quests, magic, skills, bosses and a layered role system. It runs on Fabric, plays solo or with friends, and bundles more than 400 mods. GamerPotion maintains it, and the newest Fabric file was published on 2026-10-22.

What you play
Character creation is a chain of choices: Aspect, Origin, Type, Divine Aspect, then Class. Mixing them gives distinct starts, and the Origins system sits at the centre. Quests come in two flavours. Press I for the FTB Quest menu, or press L for the advancement menu and click the book icon to reach the DarkQuesting tasks.
- Magic with wands, spells, special enchantments and tables, plus skill levelling for magic, combat and mining.
- New bosses with loot, extra biomes, custom weapons and armor, and 100+ recipes not found in vanilla.
- Flying and land mounts, some carrying several passengers.
- A currency system, auction houses, shops and two casinos for trading with other players.
- Party chat, world claims to protect your items, a shared minimap and worldmap, and Waystones for teleporting to bases.
Installation
- 1.Install the CurseForge app.
- 2.Search for DarkRPG in the app and install it.
- 3.Give the instance 6 to 8 GB of RAM.
- 4.Launch it, open Multiplayer, and join one of the built-in MMO entries, or start a solo world.
Trade-offs
The pack is tuned for weaker machines compared with other large packs, yet 400+ mods still ask for 6 to 8 GB of RAM. This page covers the Fabric pack only. A Forge pack and a separate Redux pack for 1.18.2 exist as their own projects. If joining a hosted world throws Origins id errors, create a singleplayer world, pick your origin and class until loading finishes, then log out and rejoin.

How do I install DarkRPG?
Install the CurseForge app, search for DarkRPG, and install it from there. Other launchers are not supported for this pack. Make sure Java is at least 17.0.11, then launch the instance and start a world or join through the Multiplayer menu.
