LunarFox is a client-side modpack for Minecraft Java that bundles performance mods, shader support and survival assistance tools. It runs on Fabric, NeoForge and Forge, and Fabric is the actively maintained line. OrzMiku publishes it on Modrinth, and it joins vanilla servers because it leaves vanilla mechanics alone.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.3.
  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21.1.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.20.1.

What's included

The pack aims at smoother frame rates and a more convenient vanilla experience, using OptiFine alternatives and quality-of-life mods. It is not tuned for maximum performance. Expect a considerable FPS improvement, not a theoretical ceiling. To keep the pack easy to approach, some features are hidden or disabled by default, and you switch them on as needed.

  • Performance mods and shader support.
  • Survival assistance tools.
  • An info overlay in the top-left corner, which is MiniHUD. Press H to toggle it and H+C to open its configuration.

How to install LunarFox

This is a Modrinth pack, so it needs a launcher that imports Modrinth packs. Our modpack install guide covers the launcher steps.

  1. 1.Open the Modrinth App or another launcher that reads .mrpack files.
  2. 2.Search for "LunarFox" and install it in one click, if your launcher supports search.
  3. 3.Otherwise, get the pack file from Modrinth and use your launcher's Import function.
  4. 4.Pick the Fabric, NeoForge or Forge file that matches your Minecraft release.

Multiplayer and missing extras

There is no dedicated server pack, and none is needed. When you play with friends, everyone should run the exact same pack release, or missing mods and mismatches can break the connection. Vein mining is left out on purpose to protect vanilla mechanics. If you want it, add FTB Ultimine or VeinMiner.

Questions about LunarFox.

5 questions

How do I install LunarFox?

Use a launcher that imports Modrinth packs, such as the Modrinth App. If it supports search, look up LunarFox and install it in one click. Otherwise get the pack file from Modrinth and use the launcher's Import function.

Is there a server pack for LunarFox?

No. LunarFox is client-side only and works with vanilla servers, so nothing needs to be deployed on the server. It leaves vanilla mechanics unchanged, which is why those servers accept it.

Can I play multiplayer with LunarFox?

Yes. Because the pack does not alter vanilla mechanics, you can join vanilla servers. If you play with friends who also use the pack, everyone should run the exact same pack release to avoid connection problems.

Does LunarFox include vein mining?

No. The pack skips vein mining to keep vanilla mechanics intact. You can add FTB Ultimine for Fabric or Forge, or VeinMiner, if you want the feature.

What is the info display in the top-left corner of LunarFox?

It is the MiniHUD mod. Press H to toggle the display on and off, and press H+C to open its configuration screen and customise what it shows.
