|---|---|
| Loaders | Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Quilt |

Bedrock Bridging is a bedrock bridging datapack and mod for Java on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, made by sniffercraft34. Stand on a block, look where the next one should go, and an outline marks the spot in mid-air. Right-click and the block lands exactly there, the way Bedrock handles it.
It is required on the host side of a multiplayer world and optional for players who join. It has no dependencies in its newest release.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it changes
You can place blocks in mid-air while bridging, which makes stacked bridging and advanced techniques easier and quicker. Your usual Java bridging styles still work exactly as before, and the author describes the cost as lightweight.
- Sprint bridge or butterfly click, running while clicking to lay blocks.
- Walking bridge, placing blocks as you move normally forward.
- Stacking, double-clicking and jumping while moving forward to pillar up quickly.
Commands and toggling
- /function bedrock_bridging:on enables bridging manually.
- /function bedrock_bridging:off disables it.
- /trigger bedrock_bridging toggles it without cheats and affects only the player who runs it.
Installing the mod or the datapack
The project ships two routes. For the mod, set up your loader (our Fabric guide and Forge and NeoForge guide cover it), then place the mod file in the mods folder and launch with that loader's profile. The other route is the plain datapack release, published alongside the mod files.
Questions about Bedrock Bridging.
4 questions
How do I turn Bedrock Bridging on and off?
Run /function bedrock_bridging:on to enable it and /function bedrock_bridging:off to disable it. If cheats are off, /trigger bedrock_bridging toggles it instead, and the toggle applies only to the player who ran the command.
Can I speedbridge with Bedrock Bridging?
Not with the main Bedrock sprint-jump technique, which the project says is not possible. Sprint bridging with butterfly clicks, walking bridging and stacking by double-clicking while jumping forward are all supported.
Does Bedrock Bridging change normal Java bridging?
No. The author states that your preferred Java bridging styles work exactly the same. The mid-air outline and placement are added on top, and you can switch the feature off with a command whenever you like.
Does Bedrock Bridging work on multiplayer?
Yes. It is required on the host side, and joining players do not need it. The newest release was rewritten for multiplayer stability, though the author warns that some bugs likely remain and asks for reports on the issue tracker.
