Bending is a free, open source Fabric mod that brings the universe of Avatar: The Last Airbender to Minecraft Java. It is also the bending minecraft plugin many players look for, because the same project ships Paper plugin builds for multiplayer. The Fabric mod covers singleplayer, and the plugin covers servers.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19.3 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API, optionally MiniPlaceholders, LuckPerms and Text Placeholder API; some builds for 1.19.3 to 1.20.1 need no dependencies.
What you can bend
You pick one of four elements (Air, Water, Earth or Fire) and gain access to more than 60 abilities. Abilities interact with each other, collisions are handled accurately, and mobs can bend too. The text is fully translatable, and an API is available for developers.
- Passive abilities work without binding.
- Active abilities must be bound to a hotbar slot before use.
- Sequences fire only after a precise series of bound abilities, so they cannot be bound themselves.
Getting started
Install Fabric first if you have not (how to install Fabric), then drop the mod into your mods folder as described in the mod installation guide. Once in a world, use these commands.
- 1.Run /bending choose followed by an element to select it.
- 2.Run /bending help to list the abilities available to you.
- 3.Run /bending help with an ability name to read its description and instructions.
- 4.Run /bending bind with an ability name, plus an optional slot number, to place it on your hotbar.
The trade-off is slot count. You have nine hotbar slots, so you must choose which abilities to carry and in what order. Order matters because it lets you chain sequences faster and with more precision.
