Chisels & Bits is a decoration mod for Java that lets you cut the large blocks of your world into small bits and place those bits back in any shape you like. It runs on NeoForge and Forge.
Loaders and versions
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.16.2 to 1.20.1. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What you can carve
Out of the box, every solid, simple, full cube block is supported, including logs, planks, ores and storage blocks such as diamond, emerald and iron. Glass blocks, leaves and grass blocks are curated by hand. Blocks from other mods are detected automatically when they qualify.
The real draw is mixing. Bits from different materials can sit together in one space, so you can make entirely new looking and feeling blocks from existing ones.
Installation
- 1.Install NeoForge or Forge for the release range listed above. The Forge and NeoForge install guide covers the loader step.
- 2.Place the mod file in the mods folder of your instance directory. The mod install guide shows where that is.
- 3.Launch with the loader's profile and look up the items on the creator's wiki, which documents every item, block and system.
Notes for mod authors
Authors who want control over which of their blocks can be chiseled have two tags. Add a block to `chiselsandbits:chiselable/forced` to make it chiselable, which suits glass-like blocks. Add it to `chiselsandbits:chiselable/blocked` to stop a normally chiselable block from being cut.
