Click Mobs lets a player shift right-click almost any mob to pick it up into their inventory, then place it back down like a block, straight into a chest, a boat, a minecart, or a dispenser that spawns it back automatically. The primary build runs on Fabric and needs Fabric API installed alongside it, and it currently reaches Minecraft 26.2. Smaller Paper, Purpur, Bukkit, Spigot, and NeoForge ports carry the same mechanic to server software and mod loaders that skip Fabric, and none of them need an extra dependency.

Installing Click Mobs on Fabric, Paper, and NeoForge

  • Fabric: install Fabric API first, then drop both jars into the mods folder. This is the most active branch, with 66 published builds reaching Minecraft 26.2.
  • Paper and Purpur: drop the plugin jar into the plugins folder. No extra dependency, and also current on Minecraft 26.2.
  • Bukkit and Spigot: drop the plugin jar into the plugins folder. No extra dependency; builds currently top out at Minecraft 1.21.11.
  • NeoForge: drop the mod jar into the mods folder. No extra dependency; this is the smallest branch, with 9 published builds capped at Minecraft 1.21.11.

Filtering which mobs can be picked up

Click Mobs ships a tag-based blacklist and whitelist so a server or world owner can exclude specific mobs from the mechanic. Tags such as hostile, baby, and nametagged combine to target groups of mobs by property, and individual mobs can also be listed by name. The list lives in each platform's config.yml, at plugins/ClickMobs/config.yml on Paper, Spigot, and Bukkit, and at .minecraft/config/ClickMobs/config.yml on Fabric. Restart the server, or the game on Fabric, to apply a change.

Compatibility and known limits

Click Mobs is released under the GPL-3.0-only license, so its source stays open for anyone to read, modify, or fork. Translations only ship for Paper and Spigot, in English and German; the Fabric build is English-only. Bukkit, Spigot, and NeoForge trail Fabric's version ceiling because new Minecraft drops land on Fabric first, so a Paper, Bukkit, Spigot, or NeoForge server may need to wait for a follow-up build after a major Minecraft update.

Click Mobs pairs naturally with other right-click convenience mods on a survival server, such as Right Click Harvest, for admins who want to bundle several one-click quality-of-life changes together.

Questions about Click Mobs.

5 questions

How do I install Click Mobs?

Download the build that matches your loader or server software from Modrinth. Fabric players also need Fabric API installed in the same mods folder. Paper, Purpur, Bukkit, and Spigot admins drop the plugin jar into the plugins folder, and NeoForge users drop the mod jar into mods, with no extra dependency on either.

Which Minecraft version does Click Mobs support?

The Fabric, Paper, and Purpur builds currently reach Minecraft 26.2. Bukkit, Spigot, and NeoForge builds top out at 1.21.11, since a new Minecraft version lands on Fabric first and the other ports catch up afterward.

Does Click Mobs work on multiplayer servers?

Yes. Paper, Purpur, Bukkit, and Spigot builds are plugins built specifically for servers, and a Fabric dedicated server can run the Fabric build alongside Fabric API. Every version supports the same pick-up-and-place mechanic.

Can I stop certain mobs from being picked up?

Yes. Click Mobs includes a tag-based blacklist and whitelist in its config.yml file. Tags like hostile, baby, and nametagged can combine to target groups of mobs, and individual mobs can be excluded by name as well.

Is Click Mobs safe to use?

Click Mobs is open source under the GPL-3.0-only license, distributed through Modrinth and CurseForge, with its code hosted publicly on GitHub. Anyone can read or audit the source before installing it on a world or server.
