Concerto is an in-game music player for Minecraft Java, with client builds for Fabric and NeoForge and a Paper plugin for servers. It plays NetEase Cloud Music, QQ Music, KuGou Music, local audio files and direct HTTP links without leaving the window. It works on the client alone, while shared features also need Concerto on the server.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.16 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.6 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.20.6. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it plays and how
Drag audio files or whole folders onto the playlist screen to import them. Supported formats include MP3, OGG/Opus, FLAC, WAV, M4A/AAC and AIFF. You can drag the progress bar to seek, keep listening while a stream loads, and pick a different audio output if the default does not suit your setup.
- I opens the main index, U the playlist screen, N skips to the next track, P pauses or resumes. All four can be rebound in Options, then Controls.
- /concerto (alias /music) covers pause, stop, reload, caching, downloading tracks and exporting the current playlist as JSON.
- Settings, playlists, downloads and sign-in data live in a Concerto folder next to the game or server directory.
Music rooms and the server queue
Members of a music room hear the same track at the same position, with shared pauses. Rooms can be named, listed publicly, and joined from a browser screen or by UUID. The server-wide queue, called KTV mode, lets players request songs for everyone, vote to skip, and falls back to preset radios when the queue is empty. Server owners can also configure their own music-service accounts and share curated playlists.
Installation
Put the mod file for your loader in the mods folder. The Fabric client install pairs the mod with Fabric API. For a Paper server, drop the plugin file into plugins/ so modded clients can use every server feature. If you are new to loaders, the Fabric setup guide covers the basics.
Questions about Concerto.
4 questions
Does Concerto work on servers that do not have it installed?
Yes, as a personal player. You can play local files, links and music-service tracks for yourself on any server. Music rooms, track sharing and the server-wide queue need Concerto on the server too, as a Fabric or NeoForge mod or as the Paper plugin.
Is there a Concerto plugin for Paper servers?
Yes. A dedicated Paper plugin goes into the plugins folder and lets modded clients, running the Fabric or NeoForge mod, use every server feature on plugin servers.
Which music services and file formats does Concerto support?
It supports NetEase Cloud Music, QQ Music, KuGou Music, local audio files and direct HTTP links. Supported formats include MP3, OGG/Opus, FLAC, WAV, M4A/AAC and AIFF. Local files are added by dragging them onto the playlist screen.
How do I open the Concerto music menu?
Press I to open the index, which leads to playlists, music services, search, local files, links, music rooms and settings. Press U for the playlist screen. The keys can be changed under Options, then Controls.
