Cozy Home is a Fabric furniture mod that adds stylized chairs, tables, sofas, lamps, clocks and fountains in sets running from plain oak to ominous. If you want a cozy home mod that does more than decorate, this is the pitch: much of the furniture does something when you use it. It has to be installed on both the client and the server.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.21 to 1.21.1. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What the furniture does

  • Chairs and sofas can be sat on and fitted with cushions. Sofas connect like stairs, and chairs tuck into tables.
  • Tables join into larger tables. Kitchen counters come as storage and sink variants, and the sink removes dye from objects and copies basic cauldron features.
  • Wall clocks show the in-game time when right-clicked. Grandfather clocks do the same, swing a pendulum and play a tune at midnight.
  • Wall mirrors show your reflection and stack vertically. Fountains store liquids and connect to each other, and fountain sprouts pour liquid out.
  • The telescope gives facts about the lunar cycle when used at night, but it needs open sky.

Sets cover every wood type from Oak to Warped, plus Bamboo, Iron, Glass, Undead and Ominous. Some pieces cannot be crafted at all, so you have to find them while exploring. A set of new glass blocks and panes, including an autumn patterned stained glass, rounds out the building palette.

Dyeing and cushions

The dye vat colors the mod's blocks and many vanilla ones. Dip a paint brush in it and the brush repaints blocks in that color until you change it. Lamps can be dyed and stacked into taller ones. Cushions are dyeable too, except the hay cushion. The Trader's Cushion is a rare variant in the wandering trader's style.

Installation

  1. 1.Install Fabric first, following how to install Fabric on Java.
  2. 2.Place the mod file in the mods folder, as described in how to install mods on Java Edition.
  3. 3.Add the same file to the server's mods folder, then launch with the Fabric profile.

Questions about Cozy Home.

3 questions

Does Cozy Home work on multiplayer servers?

Yes, but it must be installed on both the server and every player's client. Both sides are marked as required for this mod, and the newest build needs no other dependencies. Put the same file in the server's mods folder and run Fabric on both sides.

Does Cozy Home work with Forge or NeoForge?

No. Only Fabric builds are listed for this mod, so it needs the Fabric loader. Forge and NeoForge installs cannot load it, and Bedrock Edition cannot load Java mods at all.

How do I get furniture that cannot be crafted in Cozy Home?

Some furniture pieces and sets are not craftable and have to be found while exploring the world. The Trader's Cushion is one example: it is a rare cushion in the wandering trader's style. The mod pitches this as travelling the world in search of unique pieces and sets, so exploration is the way to find them.
