Create: Garnished is a Create addon that adds food, mainly nuts, for NeoForge and Forge. Fabric and Quilt releases have stopped. It must be installed on both the player side and the host side of a multiplayer setup.

Loaders and versions

  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.21.1. The newest build requires Create.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires Create; some builds for 1.19 to 1.19.2 require Create and Polymorph.
  • Fabric and Quilt: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.20.1, builds stopped after January 2025. The newest build requires Fabric API and Create Fabric; some builds for 1.19 to 1.19.2 require Fabric API; some builds for 1.19 to 1.19.2 require Fabric API, Create Fabric and Polymorph.

What it adds

Plains biomes gain trees with unique leaves and logs. The leaves drop a random nut from nine types: almonds, cashews, pistachios, macadamias, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts and peanuts. The logs give a light green (lime) wood palette for building.

Nether biomes, the End and some other overworld biomes hold more vegetation, usable as feast ingredients or as decorative blocks. With enough automation you can also craft Hadean variants of all nine nuts. Each gives status effects listed in its tooltip, and the creator expects most players to use this feature more than the rest.

Installation

  1. 1.Install NeoForge or Forge for your chosen release, following the Forge and NeoForge guide.
  2. 2.Add Create to the mods folder, since every current release requires it.
  3. 3.Add the Create: Garnished file to the same folder, on the host and on every player's install.
  4. 4.Launch with the loader's profile.

A recipe viewer is highly recommended, because each nut has its own uses. Built-in integration covers Just Enough Items, and the creator suggests running JEI and EMI side by side.

Trade-offs

The feature set is narrow, centred on food and nut-based ingredients. Fabric players are left on older releases, and the 1.21 line there waits on Create Fabric updating.

Questions about Create: Garnished.

3 questions

Does Create: Garnished work on Fabric?

Fabric and Quilt releases stopped after January 2025, and they needed Fabric API and Create Fabric. Current development continues on NeoForge and Forge, both of which require Create. A player who wants recent releases should choose one of those two loaders.

Does Create: Garnished need to be installed on both sides in multiplayer?

Yes. The mod is required on both the player side and the host side, so a host running it will not suit players without it. Create is a required dependency as well, so it needs to be present in the same places.

Which nuts does Create: Garnished add?

It adds nine nuts: almonds, cashews, pistachios, macadamias, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts and peanuts. They drop from the leaves of new Plains trees. With enough automation you can also craft Hadean variants that give status effects shown in their tooltips.
