| Loaders | Fabric, NeoForge, Forge |

| Environment | Client, Server |
EMI Ores is an add-on for the recipe viewer EMI that shows how ores generate in the world. This EMI ores mod runs on Fabric, NeoForge and Forge, and it must be installed on both the player's side and the multiplayer host's side.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 1.21.1. The newest build requires Fabric API and EMI.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21.1. The newest build requires EMI.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires EMI.
What it shows
EMI Ores adds these readings to EMI for each ore:
- Y-level distribution
- Vein size
- Vein count per chunk
- Biome restrictions
The data comes from data pack configured and placed features. Modded ores therefore display correctly without extra setup in the vast majority of cases. Stone and deepslate variants are combined into a single entry.
How it compares
Just Enough Resources relies on hard-coded data, so it has no automatic modded ore support. It does show loot tables, villager trades and enchantments. Roughly Enough Resources scans chunks, targets REI and also shows non-ore world generation, but it has no biome restrictions. EMI Ores covers ore generation only, and it works through EMI.
Loot tables, villager trades and enchantments are left to sibling plugins named on the mod's page: EMI Loot, EMI Trades and EMI Enchanting.
Installing EMI Ores
- 1.Set up the loader for your Minecraft version. The guides cover Fabric and Forge and NeoForge.
- 2.Put the EMI Ores file in the mods folder, together with EMI (and Fabric API on Fabric).
- 3.Launch with the loader's profile and look up an ore in EMI.
Questions about EMI Ores.
4 questions
How do I install EMI Ores?
Install the loader that matches your Minecraft version, then place the EMI Ores file and EMI in the mods folder. Fabric also needs Fabric API. Launch with the loader's profile. EMI Ores must be present on both the player's side and the host's side, or it silently disables itself.
Does EMI Ores work on multiplayer?
Yes, but it has to be installed on both the player's side and the host's side. If it is present on only one side, it silently disables itself, so no ore generation information appears and no error message explains why.
Does EMI Ores show ores added by other mods?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. The mod reads data pack configured and placed features instead of a hard-coded list, so modded ores should display without additional configuration.
How is EMI Ores different from Just Enough Resources?
EMI Ores supports EMI and detects modded ores automatically from data pack features. Just Enough Resources uses hard-coded data and has no automatic modded ore support, but it also shows loot tables, villager trades and enchantments. EMI Ores focuses only on ore generation.
