Forbidden and Arcanus is a NeoForge mod that adds magic-themed content and a wide range of building blocks, in a style meant to fit vanilla. It must be installed on both sides, so single-player worlds and multiplayer hosts both need it. Older Forge releases exist, but that line has stopped.
Loaders and versions
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21 to 26.1.2. The newest build requires Valhelsia Core; some builds for 26.1.2 need no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 1.20.1, builds stopped after March 2024. The newest build requires Valhelsia Core.
What it adds
The mod draws on RPG, fantasy, occult and mythology themes, with nods to Thaumcraft. Progression is meant to stay balanced, so your power grows as your equipment improves.
- Rituals performed in the Hephaestus Forge, which you can upgrade to higher tiers.
- Stronger weapons and tools through upgrades.
- New materials found by exploring and mining.
- Items and trinkets with unique characteristics.
- The Clibano, a smelter where souls give a chance to double ingots.
- Many new building blocks for decoration.
Most of it can be tuned through datapacks or config files, which helps if you want to fit it into a larger pack.
Installation
- 1.Set up NeoForge for the release you want, following the NeoForge setup guide.
- 2.Put the mod file in the mods folder, together with Valhelsia Core when the file you chose lists it as required.
- 3.Launch with the NeoForge profile.
- 4.For multiplayer, put the same files on the host and on every player's machine.

How do I install Forbidden and Arcanus?

Does Forbidden and Arcanus work on Forge?
Older Forge releases exist, but that line has stopped and gets no new updates. Current development happens on NeoForge. If you play on a recent release, use NeoForge. Forge only suits worlds locked to an older release.

Yes, but it is required on both sides. The host and every player must have the mod installed, along with any library the chosen file requires. A player without it cannot join a world that uses it.
