Headpat a Friend! is a Fabric mod that lets you headpat other players by holding right-click on their head. It belongs on both the client and the server. Modrinth files it as a plugin, but the Paper plugin is only a bridge, and the mod is the main project.

- Fabric: Minecraft 1.21 to 26.2. The newest build requires CICADA and Fabric API.
How headpatting works
Aim at another player's head and hold right-click. Your arm rubs back and forth, with an optional first-person sway, and the petted player can make purring sounds. Enjarai made the mod, and the icon and general concept come from Goober.
Mixed setups behave in predictable ways. On a server without the mod you can still headpat, but nobody sees it, even players who have the mod. Joining a server that has the mod without installing it yourself is fully supported.
Installing it
- 1.Set up Fabric by following the Fabric install guide.
- 2.Place the mod file and its required libraries in your mods folder, as the mod install guide describes.
- 3.Install the mod on the server as well so other players can see your headpats. A plugin version is available for Paper server owners.
- 4.Optionally add Mod Menu and YACL to edit the settings in game.
Configuration
The settings are deliberately small. You can change the strength of the first-person sway and decide whether petted players purr. There is no wiki, so the in-game config screen is the whole reference.
