EnvironmentServer

Hopper Speed Simulator is a Minecraft Java mod for Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge that changes how fast hoppers move items. One command, /hopperspeed, sets the delay and the item count. It is server-side only, so install it on the server and nothing on the player's side.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric and Quilt: Minecraft 1.19 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally Lithium; builds for 1.20.5 to 26.1.2 require Fabric API; some builds for 1.19 to 1.20.4 require Fabric API.
  • Forge and NeoForge: Minecraft 26.2 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally Lithium.

The /hopperspeed command

  • /hopperspeed shows the current speed.
  • /hopperspeed default returns hoppers to vanilla speed.
  • /hopperspeed ticks-per-transfer sets the delay between transfers, in ticks.
  • /hopperspeed items-per-transfer sets how many items move per transfer attempt.

The mod is aimed at storage tech. It is compatible with Lithium, FabricAutoCrafter and many other mods.

Installation

On Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge, put the mod file in the server's mods folder. If loaders are new to you, the mod installation guide covers the steps. On Sponge, the plugin file goes in the plugins folder. Paper and Spigot need extra setup.

  1. 1.Install the Ignite Mixin loader.
  2. 2.Run Ignite alongside the Paper or Spigot server file.
  3. 3.Put the mod in the mods folder.
  4. 4.Restart the server.

Folia uses the same Ignite setup, plus extra launch steps listed on the Modrinth description.

Trade-offs

The mod must run on the server, and the Paper, Spigot and Folia routes add the Ignite step before the mod loads. If your world relies on modded hoppers with custom transfer code, this mod will not change them.

Questions about Hopper Speed Simulator.

3 questions

How do I change hopper speed with Hopper Speed Simulator?

Run /hopperspeed ticks-per-transfer followed by a number to set the delay between transfers in ticks. Run /hopperspeed items-per-transfer to set how many items move per attempt. /hopperspeed default restores vanilla speed, and /hopperspeed on its own reports the current setting.

Does Hopper Speed Simulator work on Paper, Spigot or Folia?

Yes. Paper, Spigot and Folia are supported from 26.2 onward. Each needs the Ignite Mixin loader running alongside the server file, then the mod goes in the mods folder and the server restarts. Folia needs extra launch steps. Sponge is supported too, with the file placed in its plugins folder instead.

Is Hopper Speed Simulator compatible with Lithium?

Yes. Lithium and FabricAutoCrafter are named as compatible, along with many other mods. The exception is any mod that adds hoppers with their own item moving logic, which this mod does not work with.
