Inventory HUD+ is a Minecraft Java mod that keeps your inventory, potion effects and armor status visible while you play. It ships for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge and is tagged client-side, so it only belongs on your own machine. Think of it as three small overlays in one file, each with its own settings.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.14.4 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.8.9 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What the three overlays do

  • Inventory HUD draws your main inventory on screen. Switch between mini and normal sizes, horizontal and vertical layouts, adjust background transparency and toggle the animation.
  • Potion HUD lists active effects with a timer, or a duration bar in mini mode. Gap between effects, transparency and a horizontal layout are set in the config.
  • Armor HUD shows durability of armor and equipment, free inventory slots and your arrow count. Scale, the damage indicator style and each equipment part can be changed or switched off.

Setup and controls

Drop the mod file for your loader into the mods folder, then launch with that loader's profile. The mod installation guide covers the steps if you are new to this. No other mods are required for the newest release on any of the three loaders.

Press O in-world to open the config screen, or use the Mod button in the main menu and then Config. Every panel can be moved by dragging and dropping it, so you can park the potion list in one corner and the armor readout in another without editing files.

Languages and trade-offs

The mod supports fifteen languages, English among them, including Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Czech, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian. Volunteers send translation files to the creator, so more can be added.

The trade-off is screen space. Three overlays can crowd a small window, though mini modes and the per-part toggles let you trim them. It is a display tool only and adds nothing to gameplay itself.

Questions about Inventory HUD+.

4 questions

How do I open the Inventory HUD+ settings?

Press O while in a world to open the in-world config screen. You can also click the Mod button in the main menu, then Config. Each HUD panel can be repositioned by dragging and dropping it.

Does Inventory HUD+ work on multiplayer servers?

The files are tagged client-side, so you install the mod only on your own machine and nothing is needed on the host. Whether a particular multiplayer host allows HUD mods is that host's rule.

Which loaders does Inventory HUD+ support?

It has releases for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and all three currently receive new releases. Pick the file that matches your loader and your Minecraft release, since a mod only runs on the loader it was made for.

Can I use Inventory HUD+ in a modpack or video?

Yes. The creator's page says the mod is free to use in modpacks and other content, including videos and streams. CurseForge lists no formal licence, so that statement is the only usage note given.
