KleeSlabs is a utility mod for Minecraft Java that lets you break only one half of a double slab. The half that goes is the one you are looking at. It runs on Fabric, NeoForge and Forge, needs Balm alongside it, and belongs on both sides of a multiplayer setup.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.17.1 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API and Balm; builds for 1.20.4 to 1.21.4 require Fabric API and Balm (Outdated Versions); builds for 1.17.1 to 1.20.2 require Balm (Outdated Versions).
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires Balm; builds for 1.20.2 need no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.17.1 to 1.21.11. The newest build requires Balm.
What it changes
Aim at the top half of a double slab and the top half breaks. Aim at the bottom and the bottom breaks.
- Supports all Vanilla slabs.
- Supports slabs from many other mods. Modded slabs that do not work yet belong on the issue tracker.
- Named after Kleetho, whose livestream suggestion started the mod.
Installation
- 1.Install the loader that matches your Minecraft release. The guides for Fabric and Forge and NeoForge cover the steps.
- 2.Get the KleeSlabs file for your loader and release from CurseForge.
- 3.Add the dependencies listed for your loader, starting with Balm.
- 4.Place every file in the mods folder and launch with the loader's profile. On multiplayer, repeat this on the host as well as on each player's machine.
Trade-offs
Balm is a hard requirement on every current loader, so a single small feature costs you an extra library. Compatibility with modded slabs is broad but not complete. Releases for 1.7.10 to 1.16.5 stopped in February 2021, so older worlds on those releases stay on the last build from that date.

Questions about KleeSlabs.
4 questions
Does KleeSlabs work with modded slabs?
Yes, for many of them. It supports all Vanilla slabs and slabs from a wide range of other mods. If a modded slab still breaks as a whole, the creator asks players to report it on the issue tracker so support can be added.
Do I need KleeSlabs on both sides of a multiplayer world?
Yes. The files are tagged for both sides, so install the mod on each player's machine and on the host. Balm and any other dependency for your loader need to be installed in both places as well.
Does KleeSlabs need Balm?
Yes. Balm is a required library and must sit in the mods folder next to KleeSlabs on every current loader. Fabric releases for newer Minecraft also need Fabric API, so check the dependency list for your loader before launching.
Can I include KleeSlabs in a modpack?
The code is All Rights Reserved by BlayTheNinth. Modpack permissions and other exceptions are listed on the Twelve Iterations permissions page, so read it before bundling the mod.
