LeafRTP is a random teleport mod for Fabric and NeoForge that runs on the server side. `/rtp` or `/wild` sends a player to a random safe spot inside a region you define. It checks spots ahead of time by reading the world files on disk and keeps a queue ready, so there is no search wait on arrival. The same core also loads as a plugin on Paper, Spigot, Folia and Velocity.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric and NeoForge: Minecraft 1.18 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.20.1 to 26.2 need no dependencies.
What it does
Landing spots are pre-validated rather than rerolled at request time. The creator's benchmark on Paper shows a 5 ms median from command to arrival over 4,194 paced teleports. Those figures are for Paper, and the repository holds the test harness to rerun them.
- Any number of regions in six shapes, set by command or by dragging borders in the browser editor (`/rtp editor`).
- Spots read from region files, including Iris, Terra, datapack and upgraded worlds.
- Step-in trigger zones over portal frames or launch pads, with an optional countdown hologram and effects.
- First-join random spawn through the `rtp.onevent.firstjoin` permission.
- `/rtp config import` reads a BetterRTP, JustRTP or EzRTP config, previews it, and only overwrites with `overwrite=true`.
Installation
- 1.Set up Fabric or NeoForge on the server by following the Fabric guide or the Forge and NeoForge guide.
- 2.Put the LeafRTP file in the server's `mods` folder, with any required library beside it.
- 3.Start the server and type `/rtp`. With the bundled GUI addon it opens a region picker; without it, you teleport straight away.
- 4.Optional tuning starts with `/rtp admin setup`, then a radius such as `/rtp config regions default shape.radius=10km`, then `/rtp scan start` to pre-check terrain.
Claim checks and trade-offs
On Fabric and NeoForge, teleports are checked against FTB Chunks and Open Parties and Claims. If a check cannot answer, the teleport is refused. An optional PvP combat-tag check is also available.
The trade-off is support depth. Bug reports are accepted from 1.21.11 to the latest release, and older releases should run but get only limited fixes. Folia is experimental, so only its current builds are maintained. A Pro edition is sold separately on BuiltByBit, but the creator states it runs the same MIT-licensed engine as the free file.
Questions about LeafRTP.
4 questions
How do I install LeafRTP on Fabric or NeoForge?
Install the matching loader on the server, then put the LeafRTP file in the server's mods folder along with any required library such as Fabric API. Start the server and run /rtp. Setup commands like /rtp admin setup are optional and only tune regions and radius.
Does LeafRTP work in single-player or on the client?
No. LeafRTP is a server-side tool and is not supported on the player side. It needs to be installed on the server that hosts the world, and players use /rtp or /wild from there.
Is LeafRTP also available as a plugin?
Yes. The same core loads on Paper and Spigot, Folia and Velocity, where the file goes in the plugins folder. Velocity support covers /rtp across a network. On Fabric and NeoForge it is installed as a mod in the mods folder.
Can I move over from BetterRTP, JustRTP or EzRTP?
Yes. Run /rtp config import and it finds the old plugin's folder, then previews the translated config and permissions. Nothing is written until you add overwrite=true, so you can check the result before committing to the switch.
