NoRollback is a norollback data pack and mod that removes most movement rollbacks in Minecraft Java. It ships for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, plus a plain data pack for worlds without a loader. It must run on the server, and players joining do not need it.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.13 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
How it works
The project sets two rules to false, `elytra_movement_check` and `player_movement_check`.
The creator claims it removes 99% of rollbacks and tags that figure with "trust me". Read it as a strong effect, not a measured one.
Installation
- 1.Pick a route. For the mod, use the file made for your loader and follow the guide on installing Java mods. For Fabric, set up the loader first.
- 2.The other route is the plain data pack, which is offered for the same Minecraft range as the loader files.
- 3.Load a world with the project. The creator states one use is enough.
- 4.Optionally remove the project from the world afterwards, which the creator says is allowed.
The newest release asks for no other mods or libraries on any loader.
Questions about NoRollback.
4 questions
Can I remove NoRollback after loading a world with it?
Yes. The creator states that you can remove the project from a world after loading it once. It works by setting two rules to false, so a single load is enough to apply the change, and nothing needs to stay installed afterwards.
Does NoRollback work without a mod loader?
Yes. Besides the Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt files, the project ships a plain data pack covering the same Minecraft range, 1.13 to 26.3. Use it when your world or server runs without a loader.
Does NoRollback make cheating easier?
Yes, and the creator says so. It turns off the player movement check and the elytra movement check, which removes the speed limits that cause rollbacks. Those same limits also catch speed cheats, so use it only where you trust the players.
Do players need NoRollback installed to join?
No. It is required on the server and optional for players.
