Loaders and versions

  • Fabric, Forge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally 5555ff-lib.

How to install No Enderman Grief

Pick one route. Running the mod and the datapack together may conflict, so install only the one that suits your setup.

  • Mod route: match the file to your loader and game version, then place the .jar in the mods folder. New to loaders? Start with installing Fabric or Forge and NeoForge.
  • Datapack route: use the plain zip, which needs no mod loader. Steps for new worlds, existing worlds and multiplayer follow below.

Datapack route, new world: open More, then Data Packs on the world creation screen, drag the zip into the window, confirm, and move it to the selected column before pressing Done. Existing world: choose Edit, then Open World Folder, and drop the zip into the datapacks folder. Run /reload or press F3 + T if you are already inside the world.

On a multiplayer server, put the zip in a datapacks folder inside the world folder and run /reload from the console or as a level 3 operator. For the mod route on a server, use the .jar that matches the server's version.

Removing the datapack

To remove the datapack, run /function datapack_name:uninstall, then delete or disable it and run /reload. Back up the world before you change any setup.

Questions about No Enderman Grief.

4 questions

How do I stop endermen from picking up blocks?

Install No Enderman Grief as a mod on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt, or as a datapack. The mod goes in the mods folder, and the datapack goes in the world's datapacks folder. It is required on the server, and the client side is optional.

Does No Enderman Grief work on multiplayer servers?

Yes. It is required on the server, and the client side is optional, so players do not need it themselves. For the datapack, place the zip in the world folder's datapacks directory and run /reload.

Should I use the mod or the datapack?

Choose one. The mod suits setups already running a loader, while the datapack needs no loader at all. Installing both at once may conflict, so keep only the route that fits your world or server.

Why is the datapack not working in my singleplayer world?

The datapack only functions when cheats are enabled. Run /datapack list enabled to confirm it is active. If cheats were off at world creation, open the world to LAN with Allow Commands on, or edit the allowCommands tag in level.dat.
