ParCool is a parkour mod for NeoForge and Forge that adds more cool movement to Minecraft Java. It is inspired by SmartMoving and gives the player actions such as wall jumps, vaults, slides and cliff grabs. It must be installed on both the client and the server.
Loaders and versions
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21 to 1.21.8. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.20.6. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What you can do
- Move fast and low with Fast Run, Sliding, Crawl and Vault.
- Climb and cling with Wall Jump, Horizontal Wall Run, Cling To Cliff and Hang Down.
- Land and dodge safely with Breakfall, Safety Tap, Dodge, Dive and Flipping.
Every action has its own animation, so the moves read as a deliberate set of tricks rather than a speed boost. The README also lists rolls, backflips and cat leaps.
Installing and configuring
- 1.Install the loader that matches your Minecraft release. The Forge and NeoForge guide covers it.
- 2.Put the ParCool file in the mods folder, on the player's game and on the server.
- 3.Launch with the loader profile and press Alt+P in game to open the settings menu.
The configuration is deep, and it includes features supporting modpack authors and server hosts. If this is your first modded setup, start with the Java mod installation guide.
Optional companions
ParCool runs well alone. Add Patchouli to read the tutorial guidebook in game (one book and three feathers craft it), otherwise the guide lives on GitHub. Stamina integrations exist for Feathers of Elenai Dodge 2, Paragliders and Epic Fight, but each applies only to certain Minecraft releases. BetterThirdPerson and ShoulderSurfingReloaded are supported for bugfixes, and both are flagged as experimental.

Questions about ParCool!.
4 questions
Does ParCool work on Fabric?
No. ParCool is published for NeoForge and Forge only, and a Java mod runs only on the loader it was made for. If you play on Fabric, you will need a different parkour mod, because these files will not load there.
Do I need ParCool on the server too?
Yes. ParCool is required on both the client and the server. A server without it will not work with players who have it installed. That applies to both the NeoForge and Forge builds. It also includes features supporting server hosts and modpack authors.
How do I open the ParCool settings?
Press Alt+P in game to open the settings menu. The mod has many configuration options, including features meant for modpack authors and server hosts. A tutorial guidebook is on GitHub, and Patchouli lets you read it inside the game.
Does ParCool need any other mods?
No. The newest builds on both NeoForge and Forge require no dependencies. Patchouli, Epic Fight, Paragliders and a few other mods are optional extras for the guidebook, stamina systems or bugfixes, and ParCool works without them.
