The Quartz Elevator mod adds two blocks to Fabric on Java, Quartz Elevator and Smooth Quartz Elevator. Stand on one, jump to teleport up to another elevator with the same x and z coordinates, or crouch to go down. It is inspired by OpenBlocks Elevator and Simple Elevators, and it has to be installed on both sides of a multiplayer session.

- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19 to 1.21.11. The newest build requires Fabric API, optionally Mod Menu.
Crafting the elevators
- Quartz Elevator, shaped crafting: four Nether Quartz and one Ender Pearl.
- Quartz Elevator, shapeless crafting: one Block of Quartz and one Ender Pearl.
- Smooth Quartz Elevator, shapeless crafting: one Smooth Quartz Block and one Ender Pearl.
- Smooth Quartz Elevator, smelting: a Quartz Elevator plus any fuel.
Both blocks break with any pickaxe. Mined without one, they drop nothing, so carry a pickaxe when you move a shaft.
Range and configuration
Quartz Elevators reach 16 blocks by default. Smooth Quartz Elevators reach 64, which makes them the pick for tall builds. Settings live in the Mod Menu screen or in config/quartzelv.json.

The trade-off is scope. This is a single-purpose mod, and by default the two elevator types will not link to each other, so a shaft must use one type end to end unless you enable mixTypes.

How do you craft a Quartz Elevator?
Use four Nether Quartz and one Ender Pearl in the shaped recipe, or combine one Block of Quartz with one Ender Pearl without a pattern. A Smooth Quartz Elevator comes from a Smooth Quartz Block and an Ender Pearl, or from smelting a Quartz Elevator.
Does Quartz Elevator work in multiplayer?
Yes, but the mod is required on both sides. Players and the multiplayer host both need it installed along with Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional for editing the settings in a screen. Elevators connect between blocks that share the same x and z coordinates.
Can Quartz Elevator link different elevator types?
Not by default. Quartz and Smooth Quartz elevators only connect to their own kind. Turning on the mixTypes option in Mod Menu or in config/quartzelv.json lets you teleport between both types.
